Previously, on March 31, ship QT 92222–TS of the Quang Tri Province's Standing Militia Squadron, while on duty at sea, successfully rescued fishing boat QB 92659–TS of Quang Binh fishermen that ran aground near Con Co Island.

Specifically, while patrolling the Southeast sea about 10 nautical miles from Con Co island, ship QT 92222–TS received a distress signal from fishing boat QB 92659–TS. At that time, fishing boat QB 92659–TS, piloted by captain Luu Van Nho (48 years old, from Quang Binh) and 5 fishermen, was entangled in a net around the propeller, causing the boat to lose its ability to maneuver and was forced to drift at sea.

Immediately after receiving the signal, the ship of the Quang Tri Province's Standing Militia Squadron quickly approached and reported the situation to the Quang Tri Province Military Command and Naval Region 3 for instructions.

In adverse weather conditions, strong monsoon winds, and waves 2.5 to 3 meters high, the rescue team deployed professional measures to safely tow the distressed ship to Con Co Island.

By the evening of March 31, fishing boat QB 92659-TS had been brought to a safe anchorage, and the health of the 6 fishermen was stable.
