On the evening of April 1, at the Thay Pagoda National Special Relic Site (Sai ​​Son Commune, Quoc Oai District, Hanoi), the opening ceremony of Thay Pagoda Festival and the opening ceremony of the Culture, Tourism and Trade Promotion Week of Quoc Oai District 2025 took place.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quoc Oai district Hoang Nguyen Ung said that the Traditional Festival of Thay Pagoda and the Cultural, Tourism and Trade Promotion Week of Quoc Oai district in 2025 is a series of important political and cultural events of the district, contributing to motivating the strength of the entire people, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere, improving the cultural and spiritual life of all classes of people.

The program is organized to honor cultural values, traditional festivals, preserve, embellish and promote the value of intangible cultural heritages in Quoc Oai district; gradually exploit the potential and cultural and artistic values ​​of the Thay Pagoda National Special Relic Complex in the direction of developing historical and cultural tourism.

Cultural activities, trade promotion, tourism in the program aim to promote the image of the land and people of Quoc Oai; continue to build the image of Quoc Oai district tourism as a "Safe - Friendly - Quality - Attractive" destination commensurate with the rich history and traditional culture of the district.

The Thay Pagoda Festival in 2025 will be held from April 2-4, with many traditional, unique and special rituals. The Culture, Tourism and Trade Promotion Week of Quoc Oai District in 2025 will be held from April 1-5, with more than 150 booths introducing and promoting cultural, tourism, culinary , craft village products, OCOP products in provinces, cities, neighboring districts and Quoc Oai District...

Thay Pagoda is a famous spiritual tourist destination, majestic and ancient, with beautiful natural scenery, interspersed with temples, pagodas, and caves, creating a unique architectural complex, rich in types.

The landscape of the Thay Pagoda relic complex is also intertwined with many Buddhist legends associated with Zen master Tu Dao Hanh and folk beliefs.

The Thay Pagoda Festival is known as a typical folk festival of the Doai region, taking place from the 5th to the 7th of the third lunar month every year. The festival commemorates Zen Master Tu Dao Hanh, a Zen Master under the Ly Dynasty, who was also the founder of the Thanh To worship belief - a belief that had a great influence on the Vietnamese people during the Ly-Tran Dynasty, the founder of the traditional national water puppetry.
