The Indonesian government plans to renovate the facilities of the Borobudur Buddhist relic complex in Yogyakarta, Central Java.

This is the oldest Buddhist monument in the world. Accordingly, the government will improve infrastructure and transportation to Borobudur, focusing on developing a transportation network, toll roads, and trains to facilitate travel from Yogyakarta International Airport to this monument.

In addition, the Indonesian Government will also develop supporting areas around Borobudur such as tourist villages and community culture.

Borobudur Buddhist monument complex is one of Indonesia's famous tourist destinations and a center of Buddhist tourism.

UNESCO considers Borobudur one of the greatest Buddhist monuments in the world, built in the 8th-9th century during the Syailendra dynasty.

The complex consists of a three-storey stupa with a structure consisting of a pyramidal base with five concentric square steps. The conical base has three circular platforms and a massive stupa on top.
