To meet market demand for the Lunar New Year 2025, many OCOP product manufacturing facilities in Tien Yen are boosting production and business, improving product quality and packaging designs.
Tien Yen braised pork has become a favorite specialty of many diners inside and outside the province. At the time of the Lunar New Year 2025, the braised pork production facility certified as a 3-star OCOP product of Mr. Nguyen Van Dung's family (Thac Buoi village, Tien Lang commune) is always crowded with customers. Not only serving retail customers, this facility is also selling to many wholesalers in provinces and cities across the country.
Mr. Nguyen Van Dung shared: In the months before Tet, the facility produced an average of about 100 kg of meat per day. Since the beginning of December 2024, the facility has received many orders from provinces and cities across the country, so we have had to hire more workers to produce nearly 200 kg/day to have enough goods to deliver to customers.
According to many people, Tien Yen's pre-processed dish is very unique and delicious, so it is very convenient to use during Tet. At the same time, the product has been assessed and recognized as a star-rated OCOP product, so it is very safe.
Chicken is an indispensable dish on the Tet tray and Tien Yen chicken is a product chosen by many people. Mr. Be Van Ly's family (Hong Phong village, Phong Du commune, Tien Yen district) is currently raising nearly 1,500 commercial chickens to serve the Lunar New Year 2025. "The demand for Tien Yen chickens during the Lunar New Year is very high, so starting from April 2024, my family has bought chicks to take care of. Currently, my family is raising 1,000 castrated roosters and 500 hens to serve the demand during Tet" - Mr. Ly shared.
Currently, the entire Tien Yen district maintains a total commercial chicken herd of over 1.36 million chickens/year. To improve the quality of Tien Yen chicken products, the district has recently implemented a project to apply herbal supplementary feed rations to 105 chicken-raising households in the area. In addition, the district has also actively developed livestock farming by supporting breeds and loan interest rates for households, cooperatives, and businesses, and actively supporting people in building brands and finding outlets for local chicken products.
Tien Yen district currently has 25 OCOP products that have achieved 3-4 stars. To prepare for the Lunar New Year 2025, the district plans to supply 120,000 Tien Yen chickens, 500kg of pork rolls, 1,600kg of pink peanut candy, 300kg of almond cakes, 4,400kg of pork sausage, etc.
According to Ms. Do Thi Duyen, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Tien Yen district, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has advised the District People's Committee to direct localities to guide production establishments in the area, especially OCOP products, to proactively source raw materials and produce to meet market demand during the Lunar New Year 2025. At the same time, inspections have been carried out at OCOP establishments in the area to ensure food safety and hygiene conditions and implementation of legal regulations on prices, price posting, and selling at listed prices when supplying products to the market.
In recent times, production facilities and livestock cooperatives in Tien Yen district have applied science and technology, invested in modern equipment, produced quality products with eye-catching designs, so local OCOP products have affirmed their brand in the market.
