Towards 50 years of Antesco Company

PV: Sir! Could you please share about the process of formation and development of the company from its establishment until now?

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Minh: In 1975, An Giang Agricultural Supplies Company - the predecessor of Antesco was established. In 1986, "three agriculture" flourished, An Giang rose up. Joining forces from 3 agricultural units of the province, the Agricultural Supplies Company became An Giang Agricultural Technical Services Company. To go far, it must innovate. Antesco soon realized that it had to go further, making the most of the rich resources of the "Nine Dragons" land. And just 2 years after the merger, the company officially operated the Export Vegetable Processing Enterprise. In 1992, Antesco transformed from a state-owned unit to a State-owned enterprise. In 1994, the Agricultural Products Processing Enterprise (currently Binh Khanh Factory) was established to test new vegetable and root varieties (such as baby corn, soybeans) for export. In 1995, Antesco officially exported the first shipment to Europe. In 1999, expanded investment to build a second frozen factory in My An today.

In 2004, Antesco made its mark with many breakthroughs: For the first time, exports exceeded 5,000 tons of products, reaching a turnover of 4 million USD. This was also the year that the company researched and processed linh fish with sugarcane - a natural specialty of the Mekong Delta region - into canned products, branded Antesco, dominating the domestic and export markets. In 2008, it invested in a factory to process by-products from fruit and vegetable peels into animal feed. In 2011, it marked an important turning point when it transformed from a state-owned enterprise to a joint stock company, helping to attract investment, improve management capacity and optimize finance, and make comprehensive improvements.

In 2015, put into operation the Binh Long Factory which meets international standards, with modern equipment and production lines from Europe, with a production capacity of 12,000 tons/year. In 2016, officially became a public company and started trading on the UPCOM floor, raising the brand in the financial market. Since equitization, Antesco has transformed impressively. In 2022, expanded the My An Factory, with a total investment of 5 million USD.

In 2023, put into operation the B'LaoFood factory (Lam Dong province), with an investment capital of over 10 million USD, specializing in processing frozen fruits, pre-processing and packaging fresh vegetables and fruits for export. Notably, in 2024, Antesco recorded a record when revenue exceeded 1,400 billion VND, affirming its position in more than 40 countries. In 2025, celebrate the 50th anniversary of its establishment, summarize and express gratitude to those who have accompanied Antesco for the past 50 years.

PV: How has Antesco affirmed its position after 50 years of establishment, sir?

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Minh : After half a century, we are proud to look back at the steady steps on the pioneering path in the agricultural processing and export industry. With 4 factories (Binh Khanh, My An, Binh Long, B'Laofood) meeting international standards, each Antesco product is the crystallization of technology, meticulousness and dedication. Every year, over 100,000 tons of raw materials are produced and exported to more than 40 countries and territories. These numbers are not only achievements, but also affirmation of the position of one of the leading fruit and vegetable exporting enterprises in Vietnam.

PV: Over the past 50 years, Antesco has affirmed its leading position in the agricultural processing industry. What is the guiding principle for all activities, sir?

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Minh: The philosophy of "Quality is prestige, is the existence and development of the company" has become the guiding principle for all activities of Antesco over the past 50 years. To realize this, we have implemented a synchronous strategy: Building a stable growing area. I have directly gone to the growing area, adjusted the process, and persuaded farmers to cooperate to ensure the supply of quality raw materials. Invested in technology and automation. Strictly followed international standards... Thanks to the continuous efforts, Antesco has gradually improved its competitiveness and become the leader in many products. Regarding baby corn, Vietnam has now surpassed Thailand to become the leading supplier. Regarding vegetable soybeans, from being on par with Indonesia, we have risen to be on par with Taiwan, which is very strong in the vegetable soybean industry, both in quality and output. Especially in the frozen mango sector, when Peruvian mangoes encountered difficulties in the crop season, we quickly seized the opportunity and rose to the number 1 position in the world. These achievements are a testament to Antesco's constant efforts to improve product quality and build brand reputation, trusted by domestic and international customers and partners.

PV: Looking forward to the 50th anniversary, is there anything you would like to share, sir?

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Minh: From the very first days with many hardships and challenges, Antesco began its journey with a great aspiration: Elevating Vietnamese agricultural products, bringing the Vietnamese fruit and vegetable brand to the world. And after half a century, Antesco proudly looks back at the steady steps that have been made on the pioneering path in the agricultural processing and export industry.

Antesco's success is also a harmonious combination of the past and present, the talented leadership of the founder and the sense of responsibility and talent of today's generation. In its development journey, Antesco has always adhered to the principle of "3 benefits": Creating prosperity for the country, enterprises and components in the value chain. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its establishment, on behalf of the Board of Directors and the leadership of Antesco, I would like to express my sincere thanks and deep gratitude to all shareholders, farmers, cooperatives, customers, partners, the Party Committee, the government of An Giang and former leaders of the company through the periods, who have always accompanied and supported throughout the past time.
