Attending the opening ceremony were Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam Nguyen Van Hung, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai; along with former leaders of the Party, State, Central Economic Committee; leaders of ministries in charge of tourism of other countries; leaders of provinces and cities of Vietnam and internationally.
ITE HCMC 2024 Fair takes place over 3 days, from September 5 - 7, 2024 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (799 Nguyen Van Linh Boulevard, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City), with the participation of 700 leaders from the world's leading organizations and businesses in the tourism industry from 38 countries and territories.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung emphasized that the trend of tourism associated with environmental protection, protection of natural resources and indigenous culture is an inevitable requirement of the tourism industry towards sustainable development.
With the theme “Sustainable Tourism - Creating the Future”, ITE HCMC 2024 expects countries, regions, territories, governments and businesses to continue pursuing sustainable development goals, quickly, drastically and effectively building and implementing sustainable tourism development plans in their countries and localities and general plans towards reducing emissions globally, protecting natural resources, protecting the living environment and cultural environment for today's and future generations.
The fair will also focus on discussions to propose solutions and initiatives to concretize the goals and strategic vision of Vietnam's tourism industry in general and Ho Chi Minh City tourism in particular, aiming at the identity of sustainable tourism development, not only based on economic benefits but also in harmony with cultural, social and environmental values.
