More than 1,100 people attended the Vietnam - France music night

DNO - On the evening of June 22, at Trung Vuong Theater, the Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam - France Friendship Association of the city coordinated with the Embassy of the French Republic in Vietnam, the French Institute in Vietnam, the French Institute in Da Nang and related agencies and units to organize a Vietnam - France music exchange night.

Attending the event were Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Ky Minh and Cultural Counselor of the French Embassy in Vietnam, concurrently Director of the French Institute in Vietnam Sophie Maysonnave.

Speaking at the music night, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Ky Minh said that this is an activity organized to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and France (April 12, 1973 - April 12, 2023), the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam - France strategic partnership (September 2013 - September 2023) and the 41st anniversary of World Music Day (June 21, 1982 - June 21, 2023.)

According to the Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, over the past half century, the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and France has developed strongly. In Da Nang, the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and France has also seen remarkable developments in recent years.

Some of the French cooperation milestones in Da Nang include the project to enhance the value of the Cham Sculpture Museum; the construction of the French Club headquarters; the project to maintain Rong Dam; the project to provide equipment for Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted...

Da Nang City has signed memorandums of understanding with Sens City and French enterprises on cooperation in tourism development, promotion, advertising and introducing Da Nang to the French and European markets.

Along with that, the field of educational cooperation between the city and France has also been constantly promoted. Up to now, the city has sent 51 students to study in France at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Danang University has signed many joint training projects with French universities.

“Tonight’s music night is not only a cultural exchange between the East and the West, but also a bridge to help the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries develop more and more firmly,” emphasized Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Ho Ky Minh.

The Vietnam - France music exchange night has 21 art exchange performances between Vietnamese and French artists, performed in pop and rock styles. Of which, 6 performances from Vietnam are performed by artists from Trung Vuong Theater, Gold Medal winners at the 2023 City Francophone Singing Festival and representatives of the City's Vietnam - France Friendship Association.

Meanwhile, 16 performances from the French side were performed by the famous band “The Rodeo”. “The Rodeo” is the stage name of French-Vietnamese musician and singer Dorothée Hannequin. She is the band’s lead singer, and is also a beloved actress and costume designer in France.
