The Provincial Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs celebrates its 10th anniversary.

On the morning of June 18, the Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs of Nghe An province held a ceremony to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its establishment (June 18, 2014 - June 18, 2024). Attending the ceremony were Lieutenant General Hoang Khanh Hung, Chairman of the Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs of Vietnam; Comrade Nguyen Nam Dinh, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council.

Overview of the ceremony.

On April 15, 2014, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Decision No. 1514, establishing the Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs of the province. After 10 years of operation, the Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs of Nghe An province now has 415 members, many of whom are children and relatives of martyrs' families.

With 45,000 martyrs sacrificed in the wars, however, up to now, Nghe An province still has more than 23,000 martyrs with insufficient information about the location, battlefield and burial place.

Lieutenant General Hoang Khanh Hung, Chairman of the Association for Supporting Families of Vietnamese Martyrs, spoke at the ceremony.

Therefore, since its inception, the Provincial Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs has collected 11,900 pieces of information and addresses of martyrs from Nghe An who died on the battlefields, thereby promptly advising relatives and families of martyrs in searching and retrieving them.

Comrade Nguyen Nam Dinh, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council spoke at the ceremony.

In addition, the provincial Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs also mobilized and called for 48.6 billion VND, and from this source of funding, the association built 546 new houses, gave 457 savings books to families and relatives of martyrs, and supported some localities to build and upgrade 6 more spacious martyr cemeteries.

Comrade Nguyen Nam Dinh, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, presented the patriotic emulation flag to the Provincial Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs.

Based on the results achieved over the past 10 years, in the coming time, the Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs of Nghe An province will continue to diversify forms of mobilization, support families and relatives in searching for remains and welcoming martyrs back to their hometowns for burial. Better coordination with military units and Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs of provinces and cities to collect information, accurately identify martyrs, contributing to the effective implementation of gratitude work in the province.

Provide funding to support building houses for TBLS.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee presented the patriotic emulation flag to the Provincial Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs for its excellent performance and leading the patriotic emulation movement in 2023.
