After nearly two years of construction, the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway section through Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has been paved and is preparing for technical traffic opening of nearly 20km of component project 3.
The Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Project has a total investment of VND17,800 billion, a length of 53 km, passing through the two provinces of Dong Nai and Ba Ria - Vung Tau. The expressway project is divided into three parts, of which the 19.5 km section passing through Ba Ria - Vung Tau province belongs to component project 3. The remaining 34 km section passing through Dong Nai province belongs to components project 1 and 2.
The People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province said that the project is being implemented on schedule according to the contract. It is expected that the expressway section (PV - 19.5km) will be technically opened to traffic before April 30, aiming to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
Currently, the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway section of component project 3 has completed asphalt paving, installed median strips and is ready for technical traffic opening.
Opposite, the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway component 2 project, the section passing through Dong Nai province, has just completed site clearance. The construction unit is currently constructing the roadbed, preparing for the next steps of the project.
The construction progress of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway currently has a clear difference between the two localities of Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Dong Nai when implementing the project.
On Vo Van Kiet Street, through Hac Dich Ward (Phu My City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province), the overpass crossing Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway is being accelerated in construction progress. Contractors are constructing the bridge piers and approach roads at both ends of the bridge to ensure synchronous traffic connection when the expressway is put into operation.
Workers are busy working at the final stage of component project 3 - Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway.
According to the Cai Mep – Thi Vai Port Area Traffic Project Management Board, there are currently 11 bridges and underpasses under construction on the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway. Items such as pier bases and girder installation are being urgently deployed to ensure the overall progress and serve the travel needs of the people when the project is completed.
Within the scope of the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway Component 3 project, there are currently 4 overpasses with bridge decks and railings under construction. In addition, 5 other bridges are implementing the construction stages of pier and girder bases. The construction work is being accelerated by the units to ensure the technical traffic progress in the coming time.
On the main route of Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway, contractors have completed the installation of guardrails and median strips along the route, contributing to ensuring traffic safety. At the same time, the residential fence separating the residential area from the expressway has also been completed, helping to limit illegal entry and ensure the safety of people living near the project area.
The final section of the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau expressway, crossing the fields in Ba Ria City, has completed the asphalt paving work.
At the intersection between Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway and Hoi Bai – Chau Pha Road, through Toc Tien Commune (Phu My City), the route has been clearly defined. The two overpasses across this intersection have completed the girder installation stage and are currently constructing the bridge deck, ensuring smooth connection progress along the entire route when the project is completed.
The intersections between Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway and National Highway 56 and Provincial Road 994 have completed most of the main items. Construction at important traffic points has been accelerated to ensure inter-regional connectivity, contributing to the effectiveness of the entire route when the expressway is put into operation.
When the entire Bien Hoa – Vung Tau expressway is completed and put into operation, the travel time from Bien Hoa City (Dong Nai) to Vung Tau City (Ba Ria – Vung Tau) will be significantly shortened, from about 120 minutes at present to 70 minutes. The expressway will not only help reduce the load on National Highway 51 but also contribute to promoting socio -economic development and trade connectivity in the Southeast region.
