The Van Phong - Nha Trang Expressway is 83.35 km long (passing through 4 localities: Van Ninh District, Ninh Hoa Town, Dien Khanh District and Khanh Vinh District) with a total investment of 11,808 billion VND. The project has a starting point connecting the southern entrance road of Co Ma Tunnel (Van Ninh District) and an ending point connecting the starting point of the Nha Trang - Cam Lam section investment and construction component project.
The Van Phong - Nha Trang Expressway project started construction on January 1, 2023, divided into two packages including XL01 and XL02, expected to be basically completed in 2025 and put into operation from 2026.
The above two packages are implemented by the consortium of Lizen Joint Stock Company, Phuong Thanh Transport Investment and Construction Company, Hai Dang Joint Stock Company and E&C Construction Investment Joint Stock Company; the consortium of Son Hai Group Company Limited - Vietnam Construction and Import-Export Joint Stock Corporation.
Up to now, the entire project has mobilized 39 construction teams (24 road construction teams, 15 bridge construction teams) with a total of 1,323 workers and 658 construction equipment of all kinds.
Mr. Dang Van Dung, Executive Director of the Van Phong - Nha Trang Expressway Project (Project Management Board 7, Ministry of Transport), said that up to now, localities have handed over 99.6% of the land. Currently, only 0.32 km in Ninh Hoa town has not been handed over (accounting for 0.4%) and the power line infrastructure has not been relocated.
In areas where the land has been cleared, contractors are speeding up construction progress.
A representative of contractor Lizen said that despite difficulties with weather conditions and some locations with infrastructure problems, the package constructed by the contractor has so far reached 34% of the contract value, exceeding the plan by 32%.
Currently, this contractor is focusing on laying asphalt, urgently completing to meet the schedule.
On the days approaching the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin, at the construction site, workers and machinery are still working busily.
"It's almost Tet but the working spirit of the brothers is still very urgent and positive to achieve the set goals", Mr. Bang Van Anh, Executive Director of construction contractor Lizen shared.
Project Management Board 7 said that the districts and towns along the expressway have handed over 99.6% of the land. However, there is still 0.32 km in Ninh Hoa town that has not been completed and especially the power line infrastructure has not been relocated, leading to difficulties in construction.
Specifically, 153 intersections (medium and low voltage power lines, telecommunication cables, etc.) have been approved by the locality. Up to now, 55 locations have been relocated, 47 locations are under construction, and 42 locations (in Ninh Hoa town) have not been implemented because the contractor has not been selected. The 110 kV power line (9 locations) has had its design approved, but the contractor has not been selected for relocation. For the 11 220 kV line locations appraised by the Department of Electricity and Renewable Energy (Ministry of Industry and Trade), appraisal reports have been available for 10/11 locations.
In the two construction packages, the cumulative output reached more than VND 2,625 billion (equivalent to 36.8% of the contract value). Of which, package XL01 reached 36.3% of the contract (1.1% faster than the plan); package XL02 reached 37.5% of the contract (3.2% faster than the plan). The disbursed capital in 2023 (including the extended capital for 2022) is more than VND 4,131 billion (nearly 100% of the assigned capital plan).
Van Phong - Nha Trang Expressway is one of 12 component projects of the North - South Eastern Expressway construction investment project, phase 2021 - 2025. The project construction scale includes: expressway, in which the completed phase is a level 120 expressway, design speed 120 km/h, roadbed width 32.25m, scale 6 lanes, the diverging phase corresponds to the standard of a level 100 expressway, design speed 100 km/h, roadbed width 17m.
