The helicopters used in the flight were Mi-171, Mi-17, Mi-8 and flew in formation of 3 - 4 - 3, with the planned flight route being: Bien Hoa Military Airport (Dong Nai) - Thu Duc City - Saigon Bridge - Independence Palace - Bach Dang Wharf and leaving the center of District 1 (HCMC) to fly along the Saigon River to Thu Dau Mot City (Binh Duong), returning to Bien Hoa Military Airport.
