The Australia Awards Scholarships (commonly known as AAS) provide opportunities for Vietnamese people to access education in Australia, experience diverse cultures and enhance their knowledge and skills in priority areas to make a difference.

These scholarships are open to officials of central, provincial and district government agencies, employees of Vietnamese NGOs and companies, lecturers and researchers in Vietnam. The program encourages applicants with disabilities and those from disadvantaged areas to apply. These applicants will receive special support to have equal access to the scholarships.

Candidates can apply to study in one of the following areas: agriculture, digital transformation, education, environment, climate change, governance, gender equality, disability, health and human rights.

This is a highly competitive scholarship. Applicants will be assessed on their professional qualifications, personal qualities, academic achievements and most importantly, their ability to help address Vietnam’s development challenges and promote the relationship between Vietnam and Australia.

Interested candidates can view full information at: www.AustraliaAwardsVietnam.org.

Selection results will be announced in August 2025. If approved by the Australian and Vietnamese governments, scholarship recipients will commence their studies in Australia from Semester 2, June 2026.

Since 1974, the Australian Government has awarded more than 7,000 AAS scholarships to Vietnamese citizens to study in Australia.
