(CLO) Early Saturday morning (October 26), Israel conducted airstrikes on the capital Tehran and several neighboring areas of Iran, causing many loud explosions.

Israel is launching a second wave of attacks on Iran, according to a source familiar with the Israeli operation. Earlier, Iranian state media reported several explosions in Tehran early Saturday local time.

Explosions and missiles are lighting up the skies over the Iranian capital as the second wave of attacks begins. Videos posted on social media by Tehran residents show explosions in the sky and flames rising from the city as dawn approaches.

An Israeli source told CNN that Israeli airstrikes on Iran are expected to last "a few more hours."

Iraq has closed its airspace due to security concerns, according to an official announcement issued by the civil aviation authority. The closure will expire at 11:00 a.m. local time on Saturday, according to the announcement.
