(Fatherland) - The complex of 9 rosewood trees in Huong Tra village, Hoa Huong ward, Tam Ky city, Quang Nam province has just been recognized as a Vietnam Heritage Tree. In recent days, many people and tourists have checked in on this century-old rosewood complex.
A group of 9 Dalbergia tomentosa trees (commonly known as Dalbergia tomentosa trees) in Huong Tra village, Hoa Huong ward, Tam Ky city, Quang Nam province has been recognized as a Vietnam Heritage Tree. The ceremony to receive the decision and the Certificate of recognition of Vietnam Heritage Tree has just been held by the People's Committee of Tam Ky city.
Huong Tra Village was originally the land of Huong Tra Hamlet around the beginning of the 16th century; then Huong Tra Village of the newly established Tam Ky Commune, Ha Dong District, Thang Hoa Prefecture, around the year Canh Hung 27 (1766). The village is located right at the river junction in the East, embraced by the Tam Ky - Ky Phu Rivers, so the land is fertile, the fields and gardens are green. During the years of resistance, Huong Tra land had a strong revolutionary movement and was the base of operations of the inner city working team of Tam Ky town.
The formation and development of Huong Tra land is closely linked to the formation and development of Tam Ky commune to the old Tam Ky district and Tam Ky city today. With the characteristics of the land and culture of Quang, Huong Tra with the typical features of a Vietnamese village, that is the village road connecting the beginning of the village to the end of the hamlet, the countryside river embracing the alluvium with the seasons of white and yellow storks flying; where there are banyan trees, water wharves, communal house yards, small boats on the green river, where there are straw trees, areca rows, banana bushes, ... all have created Huong Tra with the soul of Quang countryside.
The population of Dalbergia tonkinensis - Acacia auriculiformis in Huong Tra village has an average age of over 100 years, including 12 ancient trees over 200 years old. Notably, Tam Ky city has recognized the value of this native tree species, so up to now, it has planted nearly 2,000 trees on roads and public spaces.
In order to better preserve the value of the ancient rosewood tree population in Huong Tra Village, create a destination for eco-tourism, contribute to the conservation of indigenous resource values, and promote environmental protection awareness, Tam Ky City People's Committee, together with the Vietnam Museum of Nature, conducted a survey and prepared a proposal. And on March 22, 2024, the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment issued Decision No. 112/QD-HMTg recognizing the population of 9 rosewood trees (9 rosewood trees) in Huong Tra Eco-Village as a Vietnam Heritage Tree Population.
The population of 9 golden sua trees in Huong Tra Village - an aniseed tree recognized as a Vietnamese Heritage Tree has further honored the cultural and historical values of the land rich in cultural, historical and revolutionary traditions of Tam Ky.
Over the past two days, thousands of people have flocked to Huong Tra village to have fun, check-in and admire the group of 9 sưa trees that have just been recognized as Vietnam Heritage Trees.
Although this year, due to the weather, the Su flowers have not yet bloomed. However, there are still many people and tourists flocking here to take pictures.

This place promises to become a favorite destination for tourists in the near future.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam province, the total number of visitors and tourist accommodation in the first 3 months of the year is estimated at more than 1.6 million, an increase of 25% over the same period in 2023; of which, international visitors are estimated at more than 910,000, an increase of 36%; domestic visitors are estimated at 735,000, an increase of 14%.
