(GLO)- With vivid and visual methods of propaganda, dissemination and legal education, the model of "Mock Trial" jointly implemented by the Youth Union of Pleiku City Police (Gia Lai Province) and the Union of the People's Court and Procuracy of the city has contributed to raising awareness of law observance among all classes of people, especially young people.

On April 22, 2023, the Pleiku City Police Department and the City People's Court-Procuracy Union in coordination with the Pleiku City Youth Union and Le Loi High School organized a mock trial on the crime of "Illegal drug trafficking" attracting more than 620 students to participate.

The defendant at the mock trial was a young drug addict named Hai (born in 1995, residing in Pleiku City). At the end of October 2022, due to needing money to spend and use drugs, Hai contacted a person named Nam (unknown background) in Ho Chi Minh City to buy "American weed" for 2 million VND. After that, Hai brought the "American weed" to his rented room, divided it into many small packages and rolled them into cigarettes. Next, when he learned that a group of bad students often gathered to smoke in front of the school gate near his house, Hai enticed and enticed many students to use drugs. Being enticed, a student named Hoang repeatedly smoked cigarettes containing drugs given by Hai. When he saw that Hoang was dependent on drugs, Hai asked him to sell drugs for him and enticed other students to use them. During one time when he delivered drugs to Hoang to sell, Hai was arrested by the authorities.
