At a time when the domestic music market was booming with young faces breaking out, Quang Hung MasterD was remembered for his easy-to-listen, easy-to-remember music, mixed with a bit of mischief. In "Anh trai say hi" - a popular music show last year, the singer was chosen to be part of the all-round music group Best 5, alongside Hieu Thu Hai, Ryhder, Isaac and Duc Phuc.

Many fans praise him for his multi-talented ability to compose, his natural performing style, and his bright face. Many songs that Quang Hung MasterD participated in producing and performing became hits that attracted tens of millions of listens, such as "Catch Me If You Can", "Love First Too Much", and "Cư le anh ta tro di".

Before that, although he had been in the music industry for nearly 10 years and had been famous in Thailand for 5 years, Quang Hung MasterD was a relatively unknown name in the country. The Hue native went through many difficult times but never had any intention of giving up music.

At 18, he passed the entrance exam to the Hue Academy of Music but stopped studying for half a year to go to Ho Chi Minh City to start a career. His family was not well off and he was not famous yet, so he applied to small entertainment companies. At many events, Quang Hung and his crew asked to sing without receiving any salary, paying for their own makeup and travel to gain more experience.

The singer spent many days wandering around, sleeping rough in parks because he couldn't pay rent. At that time, having a piano to compose on was a luxury dream for him.

In 2019, he started working for an artist management company, but after a few months the place went bankrupt. When the landlord called to demand money, he thought he wouldn't be able to stay in Ho Chi Minh City for long.

Sad that he was about to return home and start from zero, he wrote " Don't cry alone". At that time, the producer of a web drama contacted him and wanted to buy a song from him for a new film. Quang Hung sent "Don't cry alone" and the film crew accepted. The money from selling the song helped him stay in Ho Chi Minh City for a while longer.

A year later, his song "Easy Come, Easy Go" suddenly became famous in Thailand. The singer recalled that at that time, he lost 2 kg because of surprise, feeling so nauseous that he could not eat or drink anything.

He spent time trying to figure out why, but couldn’t figure out why Thai people liked the song. Later, some of his friends commented that the song’s melody reminded them of some Thai folk songs.

The song helped Quang Hung's musical journey go more smoothly. He became a favorite singer in Thailand and was welcomed by fans in this country.

The song is also popular in many Asian countries, with Chinese and other languages versions. With the money earned from the song, Quang Hung helped his family pay off debts due to business losses.

After his initial successes, he mastered the formula for making music, with songs having catchy melodies, romantic lyrics, and not too complicated. That is also the secret that helps him create many hits.

However, when his career took off, he said he had a nervous disorder. The singer felt tired, anxious, had difficulty breathing when on stage, was frustrated in the studio, and had to be hospitalized. Doctors diagnosed him with a form of mental illness, due to staying at home making music too much and having little social contact.

Quang Hung returned to Hue to recuperate for 10 days, taking all kinds of Chinese and Vietnamese medicine but there was no improvement. Feeling restless, he returned to the South, using music as a "medicine" to cure his illness.

To date, the singer said his health has improved by about 80%. Sometimes, he still feels nervous when performing, but knows how to control his emotions. He no longer takes medication but instead treats himself with soothing music and exercises regularly.

At the age of 28, Quang Hung MasterD no longer has financial pressure. Before, he only had two or three shows a month, now he "runs" up to 20 shows.

Once nicknamed "stepchild" because he was famous in Thailand but had no fans in his country, he now has a fanclub with more than 80,000 members on Facebook. Each offline event of the singer attracts thousands of fans.

After becoming famous, he set a goal to release an album and hold his own concert. "I'm most afraid of stereotypes in music, so I always want to renew myself every day," said Quang Hung MasterD.
