The information has just been announced by the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE). This is an information technology system designed by the Korea Stock Exchange (KRX). This system provides many new utilities, which can attract more investors to participate in the market, thereby increasing liquidity. Many securities companies, analysis units and investment funds believe that this will support the upgrading of the Vietnamese stock market.
Previously, HoSE announced the expected changes when applying the new information technology system. The most important change is about ATO and ATC orders in the periodic order matching session. When applying the new information technology system, these two orders will not be prioritized over limit orders (LO) entered into the system before when matching orders. At the same time, these two orders will also be displayed at a specific price, similar to limit orders instead of only being displayed at the price marked "ATO" and "ATC".
In addition, the new technology system also has changes in editing and canceling matching orders, negotiated transactions, odd-lot transactions, and changes in the 3 best bid and offer prices in periodic order matching.
Initially, HoSE planned to complete this system in 2021, but then delayed. Last year, information about the testing and promises of operation became the driving force to push the stock prices of the securities industry and the general index to increase significantly many times.
In a recent report, VNDirect Securities expects the new system to be officially put into operation in the second quarter. Along with meeting the remaining two criteria of FTSE Russell, including pre-funding and costs related to failed transactions, this rating agency will have positive assessments of the Vietnamese stock market in the March period and may upgrade it to secondary emerging market in the September assessment period.
