The road project connecting Tan Son town, Ninh Son district, Ninh Thuan province to Ta Nang intersection, Duc Trong district, Lam Dong province has a total route length of about 63.32 km; of which, the route through Ninh Thuan province is about 46.22 km long, the route through Lam Dong province is about 17.10 km long. According to the records, the total forest conversion area when implementing the project is 36,062 ha; of which, Ninh Thuan province is 34,204 ha; Lam Dong province is 1,858 ha; the total forest conversion area for other purposes is 44,858 ha; of which, Ninh Thuan province is 37,974 ha, Lam Dong province is 6,884 ha. Up to now, according to the project component 2, the area of Ninh Thuan province has about 9 km of construction site, the remaining 14.9 km has no site due to the forest that has not completed the work of harvesting forest products and converting forest land. To ensure the completion of the project on schedule, the Management Board of Traffic Construction Investment Projects recommends that the Provincial People's Committee consider directing relevant units to promptly complete the work of harvesting forest products to promptly hand over the site to the construction units.
Comrade Tran Minh Luc, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, conducted a field survey of the situation of converting forest and forest land use purposes to other purposes to implement the transport project.
Through the working session and field survey, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council highly appreciated the efforts and responsibility of the departments, branches and construction units in implementing the project, which is one of the important traffic routes connecting the region to develop the local socio-economy. In the coming time, the investor is requested to urgently speed up the project progress, especially the Management Board of Traffic Construction Investment Projects needs to find solutions, coordinate with the branches in forest exploitation to convert forest land to implement the project. Departments and branches need to coordinate to review, inventory, update the area of the implemented project, especially the location, land type, forest type, and wasteland to ensure consistency and accuracy in accordance with the planning policy; strengthen inspection and close supervision of the conversion of forest and forest land use to other purposes in the area; manage, conserve, protect forests and reforest to ensure forest cover. Regarding the recommendations, the monitoring delegation noted and reported to the Provincial People's Committee to consider and resolve difficulties, creating conditions to speed up the project's progress.
