Last night (November 29, 2024), at Hanoi Children's Palace, the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade) held the opening ceremony of Vietnam Online Shopping Day - Online Friday 2024, with the message "Proud of Vietnamese products standing shoulder to shoulder with global brands".

Online Friday 2024 takes place from 0:00 on November 29 to 12:00 on December 1, is one of the activities within the framework of the program "National E-commerce Week and Vietnam Online Shopping Day - Online Friday".

According to the latest statistics from TikTok Shop, from November 25 to 5:00 p.m. on November 29, there were 840 livestream sessions from 623 participating sellers. Notably, the hashtag #OnlineFriday has reached more than 1.2 billion views. The livestream session Proud of Vietnamese Goods on Quang Linh Vlog channel on the evening of November 28 alone recorded more than 24 million views and generated 31,075 orders.

The organizers hope that BigOFF will contribute to bringing Vietnamese goods closer to consumers nationwide; thereby, strengthening connections and promoting the value of Vietnamese goods to a large number of customers.
This year's event is not only limited to Hanoi but also spread strongly across the country. More than 30 Departments of Industry and Trade of provinces and cities joined together to open 60 hours of Vietnam Online Shopping Day with the participation of local businesses and sellers. This activity demonstrates the spirit of solidarity and responsibility in promoting sustainable e-commerce development, creating a solid bridge between the central and local levels.

As a companion of Online Friday 2024, Ms. Nguyen Giang Huong Ly - Communications Director of Deli Vietnam Development Company Limited - shared: Deli brand currently has 35 shops on 4 e-commerce platforms. Business categories such as: Stationery, sports equipment, office machinery, home and living, smart children's toys, tools and equipment... In 2024, Deli e-commerce channel will grow by 85% compared to 2023. The number of orders per day on platforms will reach 10,000 orders/day. Peak times such as Super Sale days, OnlineFriday can reach 35,000 orders/day. Currently, the proportion of the stationery industry is the main one.
In 2025, Deli plans to expand new product lines to meet market needs and customer tastes such as: Tools, home and living, office equipment, with expected growth of at least 200% to reach 300%.
The Online Friday 2024 program also has the coordination between major e-commerce platforms such as TikTok Shop, Sendo... with the local Department of Industry and Trade, which is also the highlight of this year's Week. Through this coordination, specialties from Vietnam's regions will be widely promoted, creating a bridge to bring culinary culture and local values closer to consumers nationwide.

Arriving early at the Hanoi Children's Palace, Nguyen Lan Nhi - a student at Hanoi University - said: " I am very impressed with the programs taking place in Online Friday this year. Especially the livestream sessions of KOLs and KOCs are very attractive to buyers. I hope that in the future, the Organizing Committee will have more programs like this to meet the current new consumer trends, especially among young people ."
According to research by NielsenIQ Vietnam, KOLs and KOCs have a great influence on the purchasing decisions and shopping journeys of consumers in Vietnam. About 50% of consumers said that their purchasing decisions were influenced by KOLs and KOCs.
In fact, the appearance of KOLs in all fields from beauty, fashion, cooking, fitness, gaming, or e-commerce... on livestream has brought a "new breeze" to the retail market in the digital age.

This year, in response to the program, many e-commerce platforms have also sponsored thousands of discount vouchers at levels of 8%, 10%, and 12% with values up to 400,000 VND and free shipping vouchers. This is a great opportunity for Vietnamese products to make a strong impression on consumers, while promoting the habit of using Vietnamese products.
According to the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade), one of the most important goals of this year's event is to build a close connection between technology and consumers, bringing ideal shopping opportunities to consumers and continuing to promote digital transformation in Vietnam.
