On April 14, 2025, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VHTT-DL) issued Decision No. 1014/QD-BVHTTDL on ranking national monuments of C3 and C4 caves belonging to the Krong No volcanic cave system, Dak So commune, Krong No district, Dak Nong province.

According to documents, caves C3 and C4 were formed in direct relation to the basalt eruption of the Chu B'luk volcano about 600,000-200,000 years ago. When the lava flowed to the North and Northwest, following the arc-shaped terrain in the Northwest - Southeast direction, it created caves C3 and C4.
Belonging to the Krong No volcanic cave system, caves C3 and C4 are medium-sized, connected, with a total length of about 967.8m. Caves C3 and C4 are part of the longest volcanic cave system in Southeast Asia with a special geological structure and high research value.

The Decision assigns the People's Committees at all levels where there are ranked relics, within the scope of their tasks and powers, to carry out State management of relics according to the provisions of the law on cultural heritage.
Being recognized as a national monument is an important step forward in contributing to the protection, preservation and promotion of the geological heritage and biodiversity values of the Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark.
