South Korea: Search of home of Medical Association leader

Previously, the Ministry of Health had carried out complaint procedures to report violations against 5 individuals of KMA related to the collective resignation of trainee doctors; claiming that the above individuals violated the provisions of the Law on Medical Services, causing serious consequences and hindering professional activities.

Nearly 10,000 trainee doctors across South Korea have simultaneously submitted their resignations, more than 80% of whom have officially left hospitals since February 20 to protest the government's decision to increase the enrollment quota for medical students by 2,000 students starting next year to address the shortage of doctors.

The South Korean government has issued a summons to these doctors to return to work, setting a deadline of February 29. After that, individuals may face administrative measures such as suspension of their medical licenses or charges of violating medical regulations.
