Speaking to the press after the dialogue session, Deputy Minister of Finance Tran Quoc Phuong highly appreciated the significance and results of the P4G Summit. According to him, this event is an important success in promoting the global partnership initiative for sustainable development goals, in line with current progressive trends in the world such as green growth, innovation and digital transformation.
Deputy Minister Tran Quoc Phuong said that within the framework of the Partnership Forum for Green Growth and the Global Goals Summit, many events, conferences, workshops and experience sharing activities between relevant parties took place. Notably, the dialogue session between state leaders and the business community on public-private partnership for a green and sustainable future held on April 17 was an extremely important highlight, demonstrating a high consensus in promoting cooperation models to address common challenges.
Green growth, sustainable development and innovation are no longer options, but have become inevitable. This is the path that all countries in the world are pursuing, including developed and developing countries. However, to achieve this, it is inevitable that there will be difficulties and challenges, especially in terms of resource mobilization, especially for the business sector. According to the Deputy Minister, a major message expressed throughout the discussion sessions was: green growth, sustainable development and innovation are no longer options, but have become inevitable. This is the path that all countries in the world are pursuing, including developed and developing countries. However, he also acknowledged that to achieve this, it is inevitable to face difficulties and challenges, especially in terms of resource mobilization, especially for the business sector.
Mr. Phuong said that one of the highlights of this forum was the common understanding that no single entity – whether the State or enterprises – can unilaterally solve the complex issues of sustainable development. Instead, there needs to be broad coordination and cooperation among stakeholders, in which public-private partnership (PPP) is one of the effective models and needs to be further promoted in the coming time.
Sharing about the discussion sessions at the event, the Deputy Minister of Finance expressed his impression with the profound speeches from representatives of central and local agencies, ministries and especially enterprises directly involved in production and business. According to him, thanks to the participation of enterprises with practical operations, the content of the discussions at the forum was highly practical, clearly reflecting the difficulties, concerns and practical recommendations that enterprises are facing in the green transformation journey.
Another highlight of the forum, according to the Deputy Minister, was the attention and close direction from the Government. He emphasized that the Prime Minister is very passionate about the public-private partnership model, always considering it a valuable tool to mobilize social resources to serve the country's major development goals. In particular, he cited the motto that the Prime Minister has repeatedly emphasized: "Turning the impossible into the possible" - a spirit that has been strongly spread at this forum.
In response to the question about the next steps after the forum, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc Phuong said that the issue that businesses and partners are most concerned about is: "What will we do after these discussions?" In response to that question, he affirmed that the valuable opinions recorded at the forum will be important inputs for functional agencies, ministries and branches to absorb and incorporate into the process of building, amending and supplementing draft laws in the coming time.
According to him, this is part of the institutional revolution that Vietnam is vigorously implementing - an effort to create a more open legal corridor, further promote innovation, digital transformation, science and technology development, and most importantly, mobilize social resources through public-private partnership to realize green and sustainable development goals.
