Through assessment, in 2024, the results of socio-economic development of Ham Yen district have many positive changes with 14/15 targets reaching and exceeding the set plan targets. Specifically, the average income per capita is estimated at 52 million VND/person/year (100% of the plan); the value of agricultural, forestry and fishery production reached 2,975 billion VND, an increase of 0.5% of the plan; the value of industrial and handicraft production reached 1,712.2 billion VND, 100% of the plan; the rate of poverty reduction according to multidimensional standards decreased by 2.64% (exceeding 0.4% of the plan); the urbanization rate reached 12.6%, 100% of the plan....
In 2024, the district plans to have 3 more communes meeting new rural standards and 1 commune meeting advanced new rural standards; increasing the number of communes meeting new rural standards to 17/17 communes, 3 advanced new rural communes and 1 model new rural commune (achieving 100% of the plan).
The district is highly focused on site clearance for the Tuyen Quang – Ha Giang Expressway project, the section passing through the district. Political security and social order and safety in the district are maintained; the material and spiritual life of the people continues to be improved and enhanced.

At the meeting, delegates of the People's Council of Ham Yen district focused on discussing and assessing the socio-economic development, national defense and security, government building and other aspects of work in 2024. At the same time, they considered and approved important resolutions: Resolution on socio-economic development tasks, ensuring national defense and security in 2025; results of the supervision of the District People's Council on the implementation of the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the period 2021-2025 in the district; Resolution on adjusting and supplementing the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021-2025 and the public investment plan for 2025 in Ham Yen district...
The delegates discussed and proposed solutions to focus on completing the key tasks of the district in 2025. Accordingly, Ham Yen district focuses on leading and directing the implementation of the socio-economic development plan targets, ensuring national defense and security in 2025 and the goals set out in the Resolution of the 21st District Party Congress. The district is determined to complete the task of building a new rural district; complete the site clearance for the key project, Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang Expressway (section through Ham Yen district) to ensure compliance with the set plan.
