In 2024, the District Party Executive Committee has been proactive, flexible, focused on leadership and direction to effectively implement the set targets and tasks. 14/15 targets have been completed, 1 target that was not achieved was the state budget revenue. The district's economy continues to develop, with average income reaching 52 million VND/person/year. The production value of agriculture, forestry and fishery reached over 2,975 billion VND (100.5% of the plan); industrial production value reached over 1,712 billion VND (100% of the plan); it is expected that 17/17 communes will meet new rural standards, of which 3 communes will meet advanced new rural standards, 1 commune will meet model new rural standards; state budget revenue in the area will reach 142 billion VND, attracting over 117,000 tourists; creating jobs for 3,516 workers; Average poverty rate per year 2.64%.

In 2025, Ham Yen district strives to complete the construction of new rural standards; resolve difficulties in site clearance for project works, especially the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway project, stabilize the lives of resettled people, contribute to the successful implementation of the peak emulation campaign "500 days and nights of emulation to complete 3,000 km of expressway".
