Ham Thuan Bac: Resolutely eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses

Building houses for policy beneficiaries.

As of March 26, 2025, Ham Thuan Bac district has completed 122/148 houses for households with revolutionary contributions, poor households, near-poor households and other disadvantaged households, reaching 82.4% of the plan. Of which, 78 houses/148 houses were completed, reaching 52.7% (3 houses built, 75 houses repaired), 44 houses are under construction (under construction). Specifically, for households with revolutionary contributions, 65/91 houses were completed, reaching 71.4% of the plan. Of which, 57 houses were completed, reaching 62.6% (3 houses built, 54 houses repaired), 8 houses are under construction. Currently, households with revolutionary contributions have 26 houses that have not been completed (8 houses built, 18 houses repaired). For poor households, near-poor households and other disadvantaged households, 57/57 houses have been completed, reaching 100%. Of which, 13 houses for poor households were completed/37 planned houses, reaching 35.1% (13 houses were repaired), 24 houses were under construction. Houses for near-poor households were completed/17 planned houses, reaching 35.3% (6 houses were repaired), 11 houses were under construction. Houses for other disadvantaged households were completed/3 planned houses, reaching 66.6%. Thus, up to now, Ham Thuan Bac is one of the localities in the province with a high number of houses built and repaired for meritorious people and is the first locality to have completed 100% of houses for poor, near-poor and other disadvantaged households.

The household of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Minh in Hamlet 2, Thuan Minh Commune is one of the households with revolutionary contributions that received support to repair their houses this time. Mrs. Minh was supported with 50 million VND to repair the level 4 house she is living in, such as tiling the floor, repainting, repairing the roof... Currently, Mrs. Minh's house is in the process of being repaired, expected to be completed before April 30, 2025. Mrs. Minh shared: "I am very grateful for the attention of the Party, the State, and the local government for their timely support to help me repair the house so that I can live in peace". Mr. Mang Van Toan's household in Ku Ke village, Thuan Minh Commune also could not hide his joy when he received 60 million VND to build a house this time. His family is a poor household, the husband and wife are farmers with unstable income and have to raise 2 children of school age. In recent years, the whole family has lived in a makeshift house that does not ensure a stable life. His family's new house is also under construction and is expected to be completed in about 2 months, helping his family stabilize their lives and settle down.

In addition to the achieved results, the district currently has 26 houses for households with revolutionary contributions that have not been implemented (8 houses built, 18 houses repaired). Accordingly, Ham Thuan Bac district strives to complete the construction and repair of houses for people with revolutionary contributions before April 30, 2025. In addition, there are 78 households still stuck with legal procedures on land. Recently, at the launching ceremony of the peak period of "50 days of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the district", Mr. Dang Thanh Phuc - Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ham Thuan Bac district, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the district requested all levels, sectors, businessmen; each cadre, party member, civil servant, public employee and all people of the district to promote and spread the tradition of "mutual love and affection" of the Vietnamese people, join hands to successfully implement the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the district. With the motto: "Everyone contributes what they have, everyone contributes their own work, everyone contributes their own property, everyone contributes a lot, everyone contributes a little; each person and each organization, based on their functions and tasks, promotes their full capacity, enthusiasm and responsibility to join hands and contribute to completely eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for people in the district."

Along with that, the Party Committee and authorities from the district to the commune focused on leading and directing the mobilization of resources to synchronously deploy solutions to soon have more new houses, helping people "settle down and start a business". Thereby contributing to propaganda, education, and arousing the spirit of great national unity; practically celebrating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Ham Thuan homeland (April 8, 1975 - April 8, 2025)...
