Hai Duong is one of five provinces completing the task of building new rural areas.

According to the report of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the estimated implementation of the goals and tasks of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction by September 2024 is as follows:

There are 5 provinces (Nam Dinh, Dong Nai, Ha Nam, Hung Yen and Hai Duong) completing the task of building new rural areas; 22 provinces and cities have 100% of communes meeting new rural standards; 296 district-level units in 58 provinces and cities have completed the task/met new rural standards; 6,300/8,162 communes nationwide have met new rural standards.
