Hanoi: Reorganizing traffic at Khuat Duy Tien - Nguyen Trai intersection

Hanoi Department of Transport has just announced a pilot project to reorganize traffic through the Khuat Duy Tien - Nguyen Trai - Nguyen Xien intersection from January 18.

Specifically, from January 18, the Hanoi Department of Transport will pilot traffic organization adjustments through the Khuat Duy Tien - Nguyen Trai - Nguyen Xien intersection, Thanh Xuan district.

Accordingly, vehicles from Khuat Duy Tien Street through the intersection will go to Nguyen Trai (towards Ha Dong) and turn right into the continuous right turn lane before the intersection.

Vehicles going to Nguyen Trai (towards the city center) pass the intersection and turn left onto Nguyen Trai Street following the instructions of the traffic light system, painted lines and signs.

Vehicles going to Nguyen Xien pass through the center of the intersection and go straight onto Nguyen Xien Street following the instructions of the traffic light system, painted lines and signs.

Vehicles are allowed to turn around below the turning point in front of house number 114-C3 Khuat Duy Tien (between pillars T179-T180 of the elevated Ring Road 3 bridge).

For vehicles traveling from Nguyen Xien Street through the intersection to Nguyen Trai (towards Ha Dong): Go through the center of the intersection and turn left onto Nguyen Trai Street following the instructions of the traffic light system, painted lines and signs.

At the same time, vehicles going to Nguyen Trai (towards the city center) turn right into the continuous right turn lane before the intersection.

Vehicles going to Khuat Duy Tien pass through the center of the intersection and go straight onto Khuat Duy Tien Street following the instructions of the traffic light system, painted lines and signs. Vehicles are allowed to turn around below the turning point in front of house number 1 Nguyen Xien (between pillars T176 - T177 of the elevated Ring Road 3 Bridge).

Vehicles participating in traffic on Nguyen Trai Street (direction from City Center - Ha Dong) through the intersection: Vehicles going to Khuat Duy Tien will turn right into the continuous right turn lane before the intersection.

Vehicles going to Nguyen Xien pass through the center of the intersection and turn left onto Nguyen Xien Street following the instructions of the traffic light system, painted lines and signs.

Vehicles going to Nguyen Trai (towards Ha Dong) pass through the center of the intersection and go straight onto Nguyen Trai Street following the instructions of the traffic light system, painted lines and signs. Vehicles are allowed to turn around in the continuous turning lane in the center of the intersection.

For vehicles participating in traffic on Nguyen Trai Street (direction Ha Dong - City Center) through the intersection: Vehicles going to Nguyen Xien turn right into the continuous right turn lane before the intersection.

Vehicles going to Khuat Duy Tien pass through the center of the intersection and turn left onto Khuat Duy Tien Street following the instructions of the traffic light system, painted lines and signs.

Vehicles going to Nguyen Trai (towards the City Center) pass through the center of the intersection and go straight onto Nguyen Trai Street following the instructions of the traffic light system, painted lines and signs.

Vehicles are allowed to make U-turns in the continuous U-turn lane in the central area of ​​the intersection.

Notably, the Department of Transport said that it will handle traffic violations using a camera surveillance system and impose fines in the central area of ​​the intersection and on routes passing through the intersection.

According to the assessment of Mr. Nguyen Phi Thuong - Director of Hanoi Department of Transport: Although this is the intersection with the most floors in Hanoi's inner city (with 5 floors, including: Urban railway, elevated road, elevated road for pedestrians, low parallel road, tunnel), traffic jams still often occur, paralyzing traffic in this area.

Therefore, recently, the Hanoi Department of Transport has surveyed and proposed many solutions to handle and reorganize traffic at Thanh Xuan intersection.
