(NLDO) - Hanoi assigned the People's Committees of Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem, Dong Da, and Hai Ba Trung districts to deploy a program to install cameras to manage environmental sanitation work in the area.
Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Trong Dong has just assigned the People's Committees of Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem, Dong Da, and Hai Ba Trung districts to install cameras to detect and strictly handle acts of illegal dumping of waste, improper disposal of waste, and slow collection and transportation of waste.

The Hanoi People's Committee has issued a notice conveying the conclusion of Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Trong Dong at a meeting on environmental sanitation to improve the quality of environmental sanitation in the four districts of Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem, Dong Da, and Hai Ba Trung.
Accordingly, Mr. Nguyen Trong Dong requested the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to coordinate with relevant units to urgently develop procedures, norms, and unit prices to submit to competent authorities for approval as a basis for units to pay, settle, place orders or organize bidding for environmental sanitation packages throughout the city from 2026.
The People's Committees of the above 4 districts have implemented measures to ensure urban order, clear sidewalks and roads, and sufficient conditions for advanced and modern environmental sanitation facilities to operate effectively.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Dong assigned the People's Committees of 4 inner-city districts to implement the city's camera installation program, meeting many goals, including managing environmental sanitation in the area. Thereby, detecting and strictly and thoroughly handling violations, such as illegal dumping of waste, improper disposal of waste at the wrong time or place, slow collection and transportation of waste according to contracts, etc.
The Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee requested the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to inspect and urge units to implement environmental sanitation packages on expressways and elevated roads to ensure cleanliness, no waste, dust and water stagnation, and appropriate operating hours that do not affect traffic activities.
According to Article 25 of Decree 45 of the Government on administrative sanctions for violations in the field of environmental protection, the act of dumping, disposing, or leaving garbage on sidewalks and roadsides is subject to a fine of 1 - 2 million VND.
