Typical festivals include: Khau Vai market, Mong panpipe festival, Mong ethnic group's Gau tao festival; Fire dancing, Ban Vuong worship ceremony, Cap sac, fire dancing of Dao people; Forest god ceremony, ancestor worship of Lo Lo people; Khu Cu Te festival of La Chi people; Pa Then people's Fire dancing festival. Folk songs, folk dances, ethnic musical instruments, traditional costumes, culinary culture are focused on exploitation, also contributing significantly to promoting the image of Ha Giang land and people.
In 2024, Ha Giang welcomed 3.2 million visitors, earning VND8,150 billion in revenue, of which international visitors came from 186 countries and territories, with the largest countries being the UK, France, Germany and the US. Domestic visitors are also very diverse, coming from most major provinces and cities across the country.
Currently, Ha Giang has 26 travel agencies, over 1,000 accommodation establishments and 229 licensed tour guides, ensuring quality service for tourists. Ha Giang's tourism infrastructure has been upgraded and operated effectively.
In 2025, Ha Giang will continue to focus on community tourism, with the goal of preserving and promoting indigenous culture. Community tourism cultural villages have become an important part of the province's tourism development strategy, not only generating income for local people but also helping tourists have authentic and profound experiences of the lives of ethnic minorities.
One of the special features in Ha Giang’s tourism development strategy is the commitment not to increase prices during the holidays and “say no to overcharging”. This has built trust with tourists, making them always feel comfortable and secure when visiting this land.
According to Ms. Trieu Thi Tinh - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province, to give tourists more choices, Ha Giang province focuses on developing diverse types of tourism with unique local characteristics, focusing on cultural tourism products, eco-tourism, resorts, sports - adventure tourism, commercial tourism, and border tourism.
What is more special is that Ha Giang tourism has completely overcome seasonality, tourism products are exploited all year round, in which the main products throughout 12 months of the year are the indigenous cultural values of 19 ethnic groups associated with models of cultural tourism villages; majestic natural landscapes and geological and geomorphological values...
Ha Giang is focusing on improving its infrastructure, from transportation to tourism services, to best serve tourists. In particular, the development of community tourism villages, environmental protection, and the development of eco-tourism and clean agriculture have helped Ha Giang affirm its position on the Vietnamese tourism map.
