Girls are the pride of the family.
The spacious and beautifully designed four-storey house in Residential Group No. 12, Cau Dien Ward, Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi displays many paintings and medals of two sisters Vu Minh Anh and Vu Anh Thu. The older sister Minh Anh (student of class 11D3, Nguyen Tat Thanh High School - Hanoi National University of Education) and the younger sister Anh Thu (class 7C6, Doan Thi Diem Secondary School), have continuously achieved the title of excellent students every school year.

Both children have a talent for painting inherited from their father. The two sisters have participated in many painting competitions at all levels and won high prizes. Vu Thi Nhuan, the children's mother, smiled: The children also participate in painting at school for charity auctions. In addition, the children often participate in volunteer projects to help and give gifts to poor children in the highlands. The children have a hobby like their parents, which is reading, so going to the bookstore, buying books and reading together is also a regular activity that the whole family often does together every week.
Not only do they love painting, the two sisters Minh Anh and Anh Thu also love playing the piano.
Sharing his secret to raising children, Mr. Vu Tuan Dung smiled: For me, having a son or a daughter is not important. My two daughters are very affectionate, obedient, and often confide in their parents. I am proud of my children and always try to do the best for them. Their dream is to grow up to be valuable people who can contribute a lot to society and help their parents.
After school hours, two sisters Vuong Thi Ngoc Lan and Vuong Thi Thuy Linh help their mother sew nets to increase their income.
For many years, the two sisters Vuong Thi Ngoc Lan, an 8th grader at Minh Khai Secondary School (Bac Tu Liem District, Hanoi) and Vuong Thi Thuy Linh, a 5th grader at Minh Khai Primary School, have both been good students and good students. Every day, Ngoc Lan takes advantage of her time studying in class, absorbing the lessons taught by her teachers so that when she comes home, she can help with housework and help her younger sister improve her studies. Although the family still has many difficulties, the father works as a freelance motorbike taxi driver, the mother sews at home, both parents are in poor health and have many illnesses, but the home of Ngoc Lan and Thuy Linh is always filled with laughter and happiness. Tu Thi Bay, the mother of the two children, said that although the family is still in difficulty, the couple always tries to let their two children study. Even though they had a daughter, and were advised by everyone to "have another son", the couple still decided to stop at two children to raise their children well and teach them to be good children.

Representing the outstanding girls of Hanoi who were honored on the occasion of International Day of the Girl Child October 11, 2023, Phung Thi Ha Vi - a student of class 9A at To Hoang Secondary School shared about her hard-working and disciplined learning process as well as the care and encouragement of her family. For consecutive school years, Vi has been an excellent student, she has a talent for drawing and actively participates in charity movements; Participates in Volunteer Dance to raise funds to support children in mountainous areas to build schools, and actively contributes to the school's education promotion movement. Visiting the family of Mr. Nguyen Hong Lam, My Dinh 2 ward, Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi, he is a self-employed businessman, his wife is a teacher. Mr. Lam shared: His wife gave birth to two daughters, he is both happy and joyful. Some people advised him and his wife to have more children and choose the gender of the fetus so that they have "both boys and girls", but he stopped at 2 children, as long as they study well, are successful, and take good care of their lives. Over the years, Nguyen Tra My and her sister have been good students, always receiving praise and rewards from the locality and school. In the 2022-2023 school year, Tra My passed the 10th grade entrance exam with high scores and chose to study at Hanoi National University of Education High School for the Gifted. Tra My said: "We have the right to enjoy a safe life, good health and education throughout our development journey to become capable women who integrate well with the modernity of the country. In response to that expectation, we have seen the attention of departments/sectors, schools, teachers and parents in recent times. Through propaganda activities on gender balance, gender equality, population planning, or adolescent health care sessions that have entered schools and local activities.

Dr. Vu Duy Hung, Head of the Hanoi Department of Population and Family Planning (DPFP), said that the International Day of the Girl Child on October 11 every year is chosen by the United Nations to raise awareness of gender equality, promote the community to implement policies to support and enhance the role and status of girls in particular and women in general, especially girls in families where only one child is a girl. Gender inequality is the fundamental cause of increasing gender imbalance at birth, and on the contrary, gender imbalance will deepen the problem of gender inequality, and adolescent girls are the most vulnerable.
