Currently, the highest interest rates for 12-month terms belong to HDBank and BaoVietBank. The two banks are applying 5.9%/year for online deposits.
However, at HDBank, interest rates can be up to 8.2%/year for this term with deposits of 300 billion VND or more.
OceanBank and VietBank are also the top banks in paying high interest rates for 12-month terms at 5.8%/year.
Banks that are paying interest rates of 5.7%/year for online deposits for the above term include PVCombank, KienLongBank, Viet A Bank, NCB and Nam A Bank.
As for PVCombank, the 12-month term deposit at the counter is 5.4%/year. With an amount of VND2,000 billion deposited at the counter, the interest rate for this term can be up to 10.5%/year. This is the highest rate in the current banking system.
The next group of banks are SHB, LPBank, Eximbank with 5.6%/year and BVBank, Bac A Bank, MSB, Agribank, BIDV with 5.5%/year.
In particular, MSB also has a special interest rate policy of up to 9%/year at the counter for a 12-month term if depositing 500 billion VND or more. The interest rate mobilized at the counter with a smaller amount is 5.1%/year.
Although Agribank and BIDV are the first to adjust the interest rate down, the 12-month deposit interest rate is currently 5.5%/year, higher than many private joint stock commercial banks.
Next, OCB, CBBank, MB, Saigonbank, PGBank and Dong A Bank have interest rates of 5.4%/year. TPBank and VPBank are 5.3%/year.
Even ABBank and ACB only apply interest rate of 4.7%/year for 12-month term deposits.
Since the beginning of November, 27 banks have reduced deposit interest rates, including Sacombank, NCB, VIB, BaoVietBank, Nam A Bank, VPBank, VietBank, SHB, Techcombank, Bac A Bank, KienLongBank, ACB, Dong A Bank, PG Bank, PVCombank, VietA Bank, SCB, Eximbank, OceanBank, BVBank, OCB, TPBank, CBBank, HDBank, SeABank, GPBank, Saigonbank.
Of which, VietBank, Dong A Bank, VIB, NCB, Techcombank, OCB, Bac A Bank, Sacombank reduced interest rates twice this November.
On the contrary, VIB, OCB and BIDV are the banks that have increased their deposit interest rates since the beginning of the month. With OCB, the bank increased interest rates for terms from 18-36 months. Meanwhile, BIDV increased interest rates for terms from 6-36 months, and VIB increased interest rates for terms from 2-5 months.
