Greenwood's assist helped Getafe win in the 89th minute

In the 89th minute, when the score was 2-2, Mason Greenwood crossed from the left wing for Jaime Mata to finish with his shoulder, sending the ball into the top corner of Celta Vigo's goal. The goal forced Celta Vigo to submit and brought three points to the home team.

Greenwood is currently on a one-year loan deal with Getafe from Manchester United. The 22-year-old has scored seven goals and provided five assists in 23 appearances in all competitions for the Spanish side. In La Liga alone, his tally is five goals, five assists and 20 appearances.

Getafe are currently 10th in La Liga 2023-2024, with 33 points after 24 games, 16 points above the relegation zone. Last season, they were only 15th, with 42 points after 38 games, just two points above the relegation zone.

Greenwood scored 35 goals in 129 games for Man Utd. However, the promising English striker had to stop serving the "Red Devils" from the beginning of 2022, due to accusations of rape and assault on his girlfriend. After the accusations were withdrawn, Man Utd still did not use Greenwood again, but pushed him to Getafe. The English team is facing the possibility of calling Greenwood back next summer, selling him to Getafe or to another club.

On February 1, during Getafe's 2-0 loss to Real Madrid, Jude Bellingham was accused of muttering "rapist" to Greenwood. Getafe reported the incident to the Spanish Football Federation. If found guilty, Bellingham could be fined.
