Mason Greenwood's poor form was evident in Marseille's 3-1 defeat to Reims. L'Équipe gave the former Manchester United striker a mere 2 out of 10, with the harsh assessment that he was completely invisible on the pitch.
Marseille suffered their fourth defeat in five Ligue 1 games, as Reims scored through Keito Nakamura, Mamadou Diakhon and Valentin Atangana. Valentin Rongier scored a consolation goal for Roberto De Zerbi's side.
Coach De Zerbi brought Greenwood back into the starting lineup after two consecutive matches where he sat on the bench, and expressed his confidence in the player by declaring that he "really likes" him. However, the English striker failed to live up to expectations, playing poorly and leaving almost no mark throughout the match.
Greenwood has been a bright spot for Marseille this season, with 16 goals and three assists in 29 games in all competitions. He started the season impressively for his new club, but has now lost form with one goal in his last five Ligue 1 games.
Greenwood and his teammates will have a chance to make amends on April 6, when Marseille face Toulouse in a crucial match - especially as they have slipped to third place in the Ligue 1 table.
