It is known that the Club was founded by journalists specializing in information technology, they gathered together to regularly meet and exchange knowledge in the fields of journalism, media, information technology, telecommunications... In the 2000s, when telecommunications and IT services were still in their infancy, prices were high, people did not have much access to the IT field, the Club's activities helped to orient and guide people to use telecommunications and IT services.

This is a place where reporters can meet and exchange knowledge in the fields of journalism and information technology, enhancing the dissemination of information technology knowledge. The activities of the ICT Press Club (CLB) are all aimed at improving information efficiency, thereby contributing to the development of the Vietnamese information technology industry.

During more than 20 years of establishment and development, ICT Press Club has become an important bridge between authorities and information technology and telecommunications service providers and customers.

Journalists in ICT Press Club have persistently accompanied, followed, encouraged, as well as had many press works, exchanged, debated, created forums, roundtables around issues and events, along with the development of the Vietnamese Information Technology - Telecommunications industry.

Although the club model does not operate exactly like a state administrative organization, but is based on the spirit of solidarity of each person. However, each member and journalist voluntarily contributes to the overall success of the club. Since its formation and development, over the past 20 years, the club's executive board has always inherited and promoted. Currently, the club's executive board includes members who have maintained their participation in activities since the first day of the club's establishment until now.

The Club's press works and activities not only disseminate knowledge and popularize information about IT and telecommunications, but also contribute to creating a dynamic and transparent digital society. Propagating policies, communicating business activities, accompanying telecommunications and information technology businesses. The Club's activities have been highly appreciated by authorities, the information technology industry and public opinion for their honesty, accuracy and objectivity.

Whose strengths, in what area, will participate in that part

Sharing with reporters of the Journalists and Public Opinion newspaper about maintaining activities that create good communication effects, journalist Nguyen Viet Phu - Chairman of the Vietnam Information Technology Journalists Club said, in fact, we have a lot of experience in organizing these activities, we have organized many different events at our working agencies, the activities at the club are implemented similarly. If at the agency there are supportive colleagues, then at the club, the members of the club will participate in supporting each other.

To make an event or a program, human resources, funding and implementation methods are needed. However, journalist Nguyen Viet Phu said: For us, funding is not a problem, more important is the content of the program. When there is an issue related to information technology that is of interest to the people, the members of the Club will divide up, build plans, scenarios, give opinions, each person has a solution, from which the best topic is chosen.

“Whose strengths and areas will participate in that part, is the job of journalists, in addition to going to the field, we have time to do editing work, so everyone has a lot of time to build scripts for the programs. To prepare for an upcoming event, we will discuss and choose who the guests are, what issues will be discussed? Even the selection of officials working in state management agencies, choosing representatives of enterprises, which agencies are also agreed upon,” said journalist Nguyen Viet Phu.

In fact, over the past time, the events and programs that ICT Press Club has presented are often important events that have an impact on many people and have a great social impact... Especially, those are issues that are of interest to most press agencies such as: information security, network security, online fraud...

Normally, it is difficult for a journalist to access information from individuals and organizations, but when the club organizes it systematically, it is easy for both the information provider and the information receiver. And more importantly, the journalist can get the information and documents that he or she wants.

Sharing about the effectiveness of the Club's activities, journalist Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, said that the Vietnam Information Technology Journalists Club, with its persistent journey, has made many contributions to the country's journalism activities.

In the early days of new technology development in Vietnam, not many people appreciated the role of ICT in general and ICT journalists in particular. But up to now, we have built a Vietnamese Information Technology Journalists Club that has been operating systematically and properly for the past 20 years.

Journalist Le Quoc Minh emphasized: "The club is not only a source of information for journalists but has become an important factor in the development of journalism. Using technology to capture and understand the needs as well as push content to readers and users shows that the role of technology is increasingly important to journalism."
