Dinh Sao Mai (25 years old), was born and raised in Hanoi. After finishing high school, Mai went to Japan to study abroad . Initially, Mai only studied Japanese at Tokyo College of Foreign Languages ​​for 1.5 years, then passed the entrance exam to Waseda University, majoring in social sciences and humanities, mainly studying Japanese language and culture.

The reason Mai chose to study abroad in this country was because she had previously had the opportunity to go to Japan to visit her mother, who is a lecturer at the Vietnamese Language Department of Osaka University of Foreign Studies. The beauty of the landscapes and the cultural experiences of Japan attracted Sao Mai.

By 2022, Mai was very proud to graduate from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Waseda University, Tokyo. Because this is the school that trained many politicians and famous people in Japan.

Regarding her academic achievements, Mai received a scholarship of 1.2 million yen/school year until graduation. Regarding foreign languages, Mai has a JLPT N1 certificate in Japanese and a TOEIC 915 in English. Mai was also selected as a representative of Waseda University to participate in a Japanese speech contest for international students and received a job offer when she was a third-year student.

"I am a member of the Waseda Collection fashion and piano club. So I sometimes participate in fashion shows and piano shows at school events. In addition, I was chosen as the student representative of the school in image promotion activities in magazines and the internet. Thanks to that, many young people in Japan and Vietnam know me and follow me on social media channels such as YouTube and TikTok," Mai shared.

After 6 years of studying, Mai did not stay in Japan but returned to work and contribute to her homeland. She chose to work in the field of education and taught at the Faculty of Japanese, Hanoi University in early 2023. Mai is currently teaching Japanese, language practice and foreign language 2. Mai is also currently studying for a master's degree in Japanese language.

Returning home, Mai chose to major in education and is currently a Japanese language lecturer.

"The motivation for me to pursue education is family tradition because my mother is also a university lecturer," Mai said.

Mai shared that living in an era of technology, science and technology are constantly developing, social life is changing every day, as a young lecturer, her biggest pressure is to always update her knowledge, gain experience to be steady on the podium. In addition to teaching, Mai also participates in international scientific conferences, collaborates in research with lecturers and scientists from many universities in Japan. Mai also works as an MC, Japanese interpreter for some events where guests or speakers are Japanese...

With her appearance, Mai does not dare to admit that she is beautiful when students and many people compliment her. However, Mai always tries to meet students in the most neat way to create positive energy throughout the class and show her appreciation for each hour of class.

Regarding the teaching profession, especially the current generation of Z lecturers, Mai believes that this is a dynamic and proactive generation. Mai believes that she and the new generation of lecturers will bring youthful and creative energy. Mai always tries to make the lectures updated, open, and age-appropriate, so that students feel excited in each class.

Mai shared: "The greatest thing I have received from my teaching career is the affection from my students. I have received extremely touching handwritten letters from students in my classes, along with flowers and even teddy bears. I always cherish those feelings. I hope to progress further in my profession and other activities so that my students will love and be proud of me."
