In the 2023-2024 school year, the female lecturer was the one who "paved the way" for a student to win the Japanese Government Scholarship (MEXT Scholarship). She directly guided students to answer frequently asked questions and conduct themselves during interviews. "With my own experience, I want to help students understand that it is not only necessary to answer linguistically but also to demonstrate cultural understanding, even in greetings," the female lecturer shared. She is also a lecturer who guided students from Hanoi University to participate and win first prize in the Japanese Essay Writing Contest for Vietnamese. This is a large-scale contest that has been held in many countries but took place for the first time in Vietnam. The essays of the students she guided were selected and awarded by the Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam, Ito Naoki. The young teacher was also honored to receive the "Excellent Instructor" award.

Ms. Dinh Sao Mai received the "Excellent Instructor" award from the organizing committee of the Japanese Essay Writing Contest for Vietnamese.

What she is most proud of is that her student's essay was evaluated by the Japanese Ambassador as "experiences that demonstrate understanding, cultural exchange and connection with the younger generation". "As a young, very new lecturer of the Japanese Language Department, trusted by students and able to help them achieve high results, I feel happy and a little proud", Ms. Sao Mai said. Recently, the young teacher was also invited by Nihon Fukushi University in Japan to be one of two main speakers for a seminar on Japanese language education held in Aichi Prefecture. This opportunity came from the fact that the female lecturer made a strong impression on a colleague from another country when she continuously stood up to ask questions, discuss more... with the speakers at an international seminar organized by Hanoi University. "After that seminar, the lecturer came to talk and invited me to be the main speaker. I am very happy to have left a good impression on my colleagues from another country. Participating in these seminars is also an opportunity for me to learn and expand my knowledge", Ms. Mai said. The topic the female lecturer shared at the workshop was Japanese language education for Vietnamese children. “Based on the context of many young Vietnamese people working abroad or studying abroad and getting married in Japan and giving birth there, I mentioned the topic of Japanese and mother tongue education for these children, the current situation and solutions to improve it,” said Ms. Sao Mai.

The young teacher not only has a beautiful appearance but also shows impressive ability.

In addition to her regular teaching time, the female lecturer also participates in many events as an MC or Japanese interpreter. She actively participates in international scientific conferences and research collaboration opportunities. “I hope to convey to young people a positive message about the efforts in studying, working and the opportunities that open up to you when you learn a new language,” she said.

The young teacher is preparing to defend and graduate with a master's degree in Japanese Language.

As a young lecturer, according to Sao Mai, the biggest pressure and also the motivation for her is to always update her knowledge and gain experience to be steady on the podium. However, she has never felt tired at work, always has a lot of inspiration and positive energy when preparing lessons as well as when teaching. The female lecturer said that the thing that makes her happiest every day is receiving affection from students, and this is also the motivation for her to be more committed to the teaching profession.

The young teacher also opened a Japanese language class and organized Japanese cultural exchange sessions, including tea ceremony, cooking, origami art...

In addition to teaching at the Japanese Language Department of Hanoi University, the female lecturer is preparing the final steps to defend and graduate with a master's degree in Japanese Language.
