(NLDO) - Not only the price of SJC gold bars and gold rings, but also the price of USD was simultaneously adjusted up by banks this morning, February 18.
On the morning of February 18, the price of SJC gold bars was listed by SJC, PNJ, DOJI companies at VND88.3 million/tael for buying and VND90.8 million/tael for selling - an increase of VND200,000 - VND700,000 compared to the end of yesterday. Notably, some businesses raised the buying price of gold bars to VND700,000, narrowing the difference between buying and selling prices to about VND2.5 million/tael.
The price of gold bars also varies between units. Banks such as Eximbank and ACB sell gold bars for about VND90.2 million, Sacombank VND90.8 million, and Mi Hong Company VND90.5 million/tael.
In the afternoon, the buying price of gold bars at Mi Hong was up to 89.5 million VND/tael, only about 1 million VND/tael lower than the selling price.
Similarly, the price of 99.99 gold rings and jewelry gold also continued to increase when listed businesses bought at 88.3 million VND/tael and sold at 90.6 million VND/tael - an increase of 200,000 VND compared to the end of yesterday.
Domestic gold prices continue to increase
Some places like Bao Tin Minh Chau Company and Mi Hong trade 99.99 gold rings at the same price as SJC gold bars.
The continued increase in domestic gold prices is also an opposite movement compared to the world gold price. Specifically, in the Asian market, the gold price this morning was traded around 2,895 USD/ounce, down about 5 USD/ounce compared to the end of yesterday. Previously, the price of the precious metal had a time when it increased sharply to over 2,900 USD/ounce but could not maintain the high level and adjusted down again immediately after.
In the foreign exchange market, the bank USD price also increased. This morning, the central exchange rate was listed by the State Bank at 24,602 VND/USD, up 25 VND.
The central exchange rate increased for the third consecutive day. Similarly, the State Bank's USD selling price on the interbank market also continued to increase to 25,782 VND/USD - a total increase of 42 VND/USD in the past 3 days.
With this development, commercial banks also adjusted the USD price upward. Vietcombank traded USD at 25,300 VND for buying and 25,660 VND for selling - an increase of 20 VND per USD compared to yesterday. In the past 3 days, the USD price increased by a total of about 80 VND.
Other banks such as ACB, Eximbank, and Sacombank also adjusted the USD selling price up to about 25,700 - 25,710 VND.
