Gold price skyrocketed by more than 6 million VND/tael this week

The company listed the price of SJC gold bars at 102.7 million VND/tael (buy) - 106.2 million VND/tael (sell), an increase of 500,000 VND/tael (buy) and 1 million VND/tael (sell) compared to the end of the previous day.

In the international market, the price of gold skyrocketed to 3,238 USD/ounce at the end of the week as investors sought this commodity more amid trade tensions.

Looking back at the domestic gold market, after a quiet start to the week, on April 8, the price of SJC gold bars increased by VND600,000/tael (buying) and VND100,000/tael (selling), to VND97.7 million/tael (buying) - VND100.2 million/tael (selling).

The next day, the price of precious metals fluctuated strongly, increasing by 2 million VND/tael (buying) and 1.7 million VND/tael (selling), to 99.7 million VND/tael (buying) - 101.9 million VND/tael (selling) in the context of world gold prices soaring to over 3,060 USD/ounce.

On April 10, the world gold price continued to increase sharply due to concerns about trade tensions, causing the price of precious metals in the country to surpass the 103 million VND/tael mark for the first time, reaching 100.9 million VND/tael (buy) - 103.9 million VND/tael (sell), an increase of 1.2 million VND/tael (buy) and 2 million VND/tael (sell) compared to the end of the previous day. By the end of the day, the gold price cooled down to 100.6 million VND/tael (buy) - 103.6 million VND/tael (sell).

Notably, on April 11, the world gold price exceeded 3,200 USD/ounce, so the price of precious metals in the country skyrocketed by 2.8 million VND/tael each way, reaching an unprecedented high of 103.4 million VND/tael (buy) - 106.4 million VND/tael (sell). At the end of the day, the gold price was 102.2 million VND/tael (buy) - 105.2 million VND/tael, which was 1.6 million VND/tael higher than the end of the previous day because many people took gold to sell for profit.

The price of gold rings also fluctuated similarly. If at the end of last week, the price of gold rings was commonly traded at 97-97.5 million VND/tael (buy) - 100.5-101.1 million VND/tael (sell), then this morning it was 101.4-101.5 million VND/tael (buy) and 104.9-105 million VND/tael (sell).

Compared to last weekend, the price of SJC gold bars has increased by 6.1 million VND/tael, and the price of gold rings has increased by 3.8-4.5 million VND/tael.
