Hoan Kiem District plans to establish 2 wards: Hoan Kiem and Cua Nam

On April 19, the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District announced that the collection of public opinions and approval of the District People's Council on the arrangement of ward administrative units in the district is being implemented simultaneously in 18 wards in the district.

According to the plan, Hoan Kiem district will establish two basic administrative units: Hoan Kiem and Cua Nam.

Specifically, the Hoan Kiem administrative unit has a natural area of 1.93 km² and a population of 71,280 people. The administrative boundary includes the entire area and population of the wards: Hang Ma, Hang Bo, Hang Dao, Hang Bac, Hang Buom, Hang Gai, Ly Thai To (Hoan Kiem); most of the natural area and population of the wards: Dong Xuan, Trang Tien, Cua Dong, Hang Bong, Hang Trong (Hoan Kiem); part of the natural area and population of the wards: Cua Nam (Hoan Kiem), Dien Bien (Ba Dinh).

With the basic administrative unit of Cua Nam, the natural area is 1.65km²; the population is 65,667 people. The administrative boundary includes the entire area and population of the wards: Tran Hung Dao, Hang Bai, Phan Chu Trinh (Hoan Kiem); most of the natural area and population of Cua Nam ward (Hoan Kiem); part of the natural area and population of the wards: Hang Bong, Hang Trong, Trang Tien (Hoan Kiem); Pham Dinh Ho, Nguyen Du (Hai Ba Trung).

Particularly, Chuong Duong and Phuc Tan wards (Hoan Kiem district) are expected to merge with commune-level administrative units of other districts to form new commune-level administrative units.

The People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District also said that the district is currently collecting public opinions and approving the People's Councils at all levels on the Project to arrange administrative units of wards in Hoan Kiem District.

The public consultation will be completed before April 21, 2025.

Speaking to reporters of the Hanoi Moi Newspaper on the morning of April 19, representatives of the People's Committees of wards in Hoan Kiem District said that they had collected public opinions on the evening of April 18. All information related to the city's administrative unit arrangement plan was promptly communicated to the general public in accordance with regulations to promptly disseminate the policies of the Central Government and the city, creating high consensus among the people.
