Previously, world gold prices "inched up" slightly in the trading session on January 23, as investors waited for a series of US economic data this week to get more signals about the US Federal Reserve's (Fed) interest rate cut roadmap.
At the end of this session, at the COMEX exchange (USA), the spot gold price increased by 0.2% to 2,025.09 USD/ounce. Meanwhile, the gold futures price increased by 0.2% to 2,025.8 USD/ounce.
“Gold is just barely above $2,000 an ounce and that seems to be a neutral level,” said Daniel Pavilonis, senior market strategist at RJO Futures. “Every time it starts to move higher, it pulls back because there’s a lot of uncertainty about the U.S. economy.”
