World gold price today September 21, 2024 and world gold price fluctuation chart in the past 24 hours
According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 5am today, Vietnam time, was at 2,621.13 USD/ounce. Today's gold price increased by 34.46 USD compared to yesterday's gold price. Converted according to the current exchange rate at Vietcombank, the world gold price is about 76.746 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is still 3.254 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

Gold prices jumped above $2,600 for the first time today, extending gains fueled by expectations of further U.S. interest rate cuts and rising tensions in the Middle East.
Gold's latest rally got a boost after the Federal Reserve kicked off its aggressive easing cycle on Wednesday with a half-percentage-point cut, adding to the appeal of non-yielding bullion.
The price of this safe-haven asset is set to rise 27% in 2024, its biggest annual gain since 2010, as investors also seek to hedge against uncertainties arising from protracted conflicts in the Middle East and elsewhere.
Analysts say the record rally is likely to lead to a correction.
“ There is clearly still some buying activity related to the Fed’s decision to start the easing cycle with a big cut ,” said Daniel Ghali, commodity strategist at TD Securities.
However, “ the source of this buying activity remains off our radar as ETF inflows are relatively small and Asian buyers are still on a buyer strike, all signs of extreme positioning ,” Ghali added.
The record price surge has eroded retail demand in top consumers China and India.
The gold rally won't last forever, Commerzbank said in a note, citing expectations of only a 25 basis point rate cut at the next two Fed meetings.
However, some analysts say gold prices could rise further.
“ Geopolitical risks, such as ongoing conflicts in Gaza, Ukraine and elsewhere, will ensure continued safe-haven demand for gold, ” Forex.com analyst Fawad Razaqzada said in a note.
The continued weakness in the US dollar, which makes gold cheaper for holders of other currencies, has provided additional impetus, analysts said.
Elsewhere, spot silver rose 1.2% to $31.16. Platinum fell 1.1% to $978.50 and palladium fell 0.5% to $1,074.84.
