Gold price developments "escalate", unpredictable
On April 3, 2025, the price of SJC gold bars set a new peak at 103 million VND/tael, causing the market to "storm". Just a few sessions later, the price turned around and dropped below 100 million VND/tael, then continued to skyrocket again, reaching over 106 million VND/tael on April 12, 2025. This "up - down - then up again" trend left investors with many choices: Take profits immediately, continue to hold, or... stand on the sidelines and observe.

According to experts, the recent sharp increase in gold prices is mainly due to the impact of the world market, when the spot gold price continuously broke records, surpassing 2,300 USD/ounce. The main reasons come from concerns about inflation in the US, geopolitical tensions and expectations that the US Federal Reserve (Fed) will soon cut interest rates.
In the country, in addition to the world factor, the price difference between SJC gold and world gold is still very high (about 15-17 million VND/tael), causing the gold market to fluctuate even more. The fact that the supply of SJC gold is still limited is also a reason why the price increases faster and stronger than previous periods.
Should we "pour money" into gold at this time?
The continuous increase in gold prices has affected investors’ psychology. Many people are rushing to sell to “take profits” when gold reaches its peak. However, many people still expect gold prices to continue to increase, especially when the global context has not shown signs of stability.
According to economic experts, gold is always considered a safe haven against fluctuations in the world economy. However, too high a price also carries the risk of strong correction. Accordingly, investors need to be especially cautious if participating in the market at this time, because the price of gold can reverse quickly. For those who have made a profit, they should consider taking a part of the profit to preserve the results.
Gold is still considered an effective long-term investment channel, especially in the period of inflation. However, if you only invest in the short term, surfing, the risk is very high because the price is at its peak. Investors should consider carefully, should not "chase the peak" in the current volatile market context.
In addition, experts also warned that if the Government implements additional measures to stabilize the gold market as it has done before (such as gold auctions and supply regulation), gold prices could reverse faster than expected.
Gold prices fluctuate unpredictably, affected by global factors and domestic differences. Gold is still a safe haven but has potential short-term risks. Avoid “chasing the peak”, especially for swing traders. Consider a reasonable capital allocation strategy, and take partial profits if there is profit. |
