DOJI listed the price of 9999 gold today at 82.1 million VND/tael for buying and 84.1 million VND/tael for selling, down 1 million VND/tael for buying and unchanged for selling compared to the previous trading session. The difference between the buying price and selling price is 2.0 million VND.
At Mi Hong Jewelry Company, the price of Mi Hong gold at the time of survey was listed at VND83.3-84.1 million/tael for buying and selling. Compared to yesterday, the price of SJC gold bars also decreased by VND1 million/tael for both buying and selling.

World gold price today December 20, 2024 and world gold price fluctuation chart in the past 24 hours
According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 4:30 a.m. today, Vietnam time, was 2,596.1 USD/ounce. Today's gold price increased by 0.33% compared to yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate on the free market (25,707 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 80.5 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is 3.6 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

World gold prices edged up today, erasing earlier gains after US data reinforced market expectations that the Federal Reserve will take a cautious approach to policy easing next year.
Earlier data showed the US economy grew faster than expected in the third quarter, while jobless claims also fell more than expected, Reuters reported.
“With these GDP numbers and jobless claims, the data is pretty solid,” said Bart Melek, head of commodity strategy at TD Securities, adding that the solid economy and inflation risks, including tariffs and spending cuts, reaffirm that the Fed has little reason to act aggressively, which is traditionally bad for non-yielding gold.
Gold prices fell more than 2% to a one-month low early in the session after Fed officials cut their forecasts for future policy easing as inflation remained high. The decline attracted investors to buy, sending prices up as much as 1.5% early in the session.
“The short-term decline in gold has created a good buying opportunity for long-term gold holders. You have debt issues, the risk of a government shutdown and we have seen the new administration’s stance on trying to cut costs and reduce the deficit,” said Alex Ebkarian, chief executive officer at Allegiance Gold.
U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's push to persuade Congress ahead of his inauguration threatens to complicate efforts to avoid a government shutdown, potentially disrupting services such as air travel and law enforcement ahead of the holiday.
Gold is considered a safe investment choice during times of economic and geopolitical uncertainty and tends to thrive in low interest rate environments.
Investors are awaiting Friday's release of core PCE data, the Fed's preferred inflation gauge, for further clues on the economic outlook.
Spot silver fell 1% to $29.05 an ounce, platinum rose 0.3% to $922.40 and palladium rose 0.6% to $908.36.
