Vegetable products on April 30 holiday this year are stable compared to normal days.

Specifically, the prices of fresh food items such as: Chicken 105,000 - 130,000 VND/kg for feathered chicken, 140,000 - 150,000 VND/kg for slaughtered chicken; duck, goose 65,000 - 70,000 VND/kg with feathers, 90,000 - 110,000 VND/kg for slaughtered chicken; pork from 110,000 - 160,000 VND/kg (depending on the type); beef 130,000 - 320,000 VND/kg (depending on the type).

Prices of seafood such as shrimp, crab, squid... increased slightly by 10,000 - 15,000 VND/kg early this morning, but by 10am the prices had decreased, equivalent to normal days.

Green vegetables such as red amaranth, Malabar spinach, water spinach, mustard greens... from 5,000 - 7,000 VND/bunch; tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, radishes from 12,000 - 15,000 VND/kg; squash 15,000 - 18,000 VND/kg... (this price is stable compared to normal days).

The price of flowers also did not increase.

Fruit prices are also relatively stable, lilies are 60,000 VND/bunch of 10 branches; lilies are 200,000 VND/bunch of 10 branches; watermelon, oranges, mangoes, mangosteens, jackfruits... remain the same price as usual, only pineapples have increased by 3,000-5,000 VND/fruit.

Not only in traditional markets and people's markets, purchasing power is sluggish, many supermarkets and shopping centers are also in the same situation, although the prices of many items have dropped by 30-50%. The Co.op Mart supermarket chain takes turns reducing prices by 15-20% on fresh food items such as pre-processed braised red tilapia with soy sauce, pre-processed salted and lemongrass basa fillets, sweet cabbage, Dalat carrots, cucumbers, white oyster mushrooms, green-skinned grapefruit, Cat Chu mango, Australian seedless black grapes...

In many supermarkets, purchasing power is also sluggish.

Le Thi Linh - sales staff at Winmart Cau Dien counter - said: " To stimulate shopping during the holiday of April 30 - May 1, many items are heavily discounted, the goods are full of stalls, abundant and diverse, but the number of buyers is very low ".

In fact, the reporter's observations show that the prices of many food items at supermarkets have decreased quite well compared to normal days. It is known that previously, supermarkets had promptly coordinated with suppliers to have plans to reduce prices and promote during the holidays for essential goods such as rice, livestock meat, poultry meat, some dairy products, etc.; at the same time, they proactively coordinated the supply of goods in the system to stimulate consumption, contributing to stabilizing the market.

Due to forecasts that purchasing power will not increase during the April 30 - May 1 holiday this year, many retailers have limited their imports, kept prices the same as usual, and even reduced prices to attract customers, but business has been quite sluggish.

On normal days, this small alley is always congested because there are many people selling and buying fresh food products.

However, it is forecasted that tomorrow (May 1), consumer demand as well as entertainment in Hanoi will increase, because many families and students plan to return to the capital from this afternoon.

Representatives of several supermarkets also shared the same opinion that the next day, shopping demand will increase, because workers have returned to the capital to rest and prepare mentally for the new working day, while this day is still a day off for students as well as workers.

It is known that, to ensure safety for people's shopping needs, the General Department of Market Management has directed the Market Management Departments of localities to strengthen inspection and supervision of the commodity market during the April 30 - May 1 holiday; strictly handle acts of hoarding goods, unreasonable price increases; and the situation of taking advantage of the holiday to trade in counterfeit goods, fake goods, and goods that do not ensure quality.

Many items are discounted to stimulate consumption.

As a key tourist area of ​​the country, during the April 30 and May 1 holidays this year, the Hanoi City Steering Committee 389 directed functional forces to take measures to control tourism service prices, requiring organizations and individuals doing tourism business to strictly comply with regulations on registration, price posting and selling at the listed price; not allowing the situation of arbitrarily raising prices, soliciting, forcing customers, causing price fever, negatively affecting the image of the locality in particular and the capital in general; detecting, preventing and resolutely handling subjects who stalk and cause trouble for tourists; arranging enough staff to guide and support customers.
