Traveling to Thanh Hoa on the occasion of April 30 - May 1, to avoid the overload in Sam Son or Hai Tien, Hai Thanh beach will be a reasonable suggestion.
Thanh Hoa not only has bustling beaches like Sam Son or Hai Tien, but also has wild and peaceful beaches. Hai Thanh beach in Hai Thanh commune, Tinh Gia district is one of them. Hai Thanh Beach, also known as Ngoc Son Beach, is located near Bai Dong or Hai Hoa Beach, 50km from Thanh Hoa city center and more than 200km from Hanoi. This place is still pristine because it has not been exploited much, mainly local people come to have fun and swim in the sea on hot summer days. Hai Thanh coastline is 4.2km long, stretching from Thoi Mountain to the foot of Du Xuyen Mountain, with waves lapping along peaceful fishing villages. This beach does not have many recreational activities, visitors can swim, walk on the sand to watch the sunrise and sunset. Note that when swimming, do not swim far from shore, past the warning area to ensure safety. Vu Duc Hung, a student from Hanoi who had the opportunity to visit Hai Thanh beach, commented: “There are not too many people coming to Hai Thanh beach, so it does not feel crowded. In addition, the sea water here is clearer than other beaches in Thanh Hoa.” Traveling to this pristine beach in Thanh Hoa, visitors can combine visiting historical and cultural relics such as Dot Tien Pagoda on the slopes of Du Xuyen Mountain with a history of more than 300 years, Lach Bang Temple located on a mountain peak, right at the mouth of Lach Bang River. In addition, visitors can walk along the coast to Ba Lang Church, visit Ba Lang fish sauce village by electric car... The Sun Rock located on the border between Hai Thanh beach and Hai Hoa beach is also a check-in spot loved by many young people. This area has many rocks and cool green pine forests, becoming a great photo backdrop. On the right side of Hai Thanh beach, at the foot of Du Xuyen mountain, there is also a rocky beach full of barnacles and snails for taking beautiful virtual photos. Pay attention to the shells of snails and barnacles clinging to the rocks when wading barefoot in the water to avoid injury. Go to the fishing village for breakfast and stroll around the market, choosing fresh seafood at reasonable prices. The market is only open in the morning. Located in the North Central region, the weather at Hai Thanh beach is influenced by the climate of both the North and Central regions. The best time to come here is in the summer from May to August, which is suitable for swimming. However, July and August often have storms, so visitors should check the weather forecast before going. Hai Thanh tourism has not invested much in development, so accommodation needs to be considered and booked in advance. Tourists can book hotels or motels, but they are usually quite far from the beach. From Hanoi to Hai Thanh beach, tourists can travel by motorbike or private car. Or, take a bus from Giap Bat station, Yen Nghia to Tinh Gia, Thanh Hoa, ticket price from 150,000 - 200,000 VND/person/trip. Travel time by car will be faster than by motorbike because it is on the highway, taking about 3 hours and 30 minutes.
