The Mai Vang Award is an annual Cultural - Artistic Award organized by the Lao Dong Newspaper, voted by the public to honor artists with excellent works and outstanding activities during the year.

People's Artist Viet Anh said: "I have participated in the Mai Vang Award for many years and in recent years have also been a member of the art council. The Mai Vang Award not only honors artists after a year of artistic work, creating achievements, but also helps artists look to other fields such as literature, fine arts, photography... Each year, Mai Vang develops more, helping the audience reshape literary and artistic activities, increasing truth - goodness - beauty".
Director Quoc Thao was emotional when he received the Mai Vang statue twice for the plays "Love Teacher" and "Love Night" in the "Stage Director" category in 2000 and 2002.
At that time, the award ceremony was held at Suoi Tien Tourist Area, quite far from the center of Ho Chi Minh City. However, the artists still tried to overcome all geographical distances to come to the award ceremony because it was an honor, it was the love of the audience in each vote.
"That was a happy moment that I will never forget. An excitement, joy and pride when being honored, holding the Mai Vang statue and giving the award speech. A great motivation for me to try harder in my career" - director Quoc Thao confided.
Meritorious Artist Tu Suong also expressed her emotions every time her name was voted for. She always felt nervous and excited when her name was called to receive the award and felt very honored.
It is the result of not only her own efforts but also thanks to the author, director, colleagues and loving audience.
When asked about the candidates for this year’s stage category, the artists all said that those who made it to the voting round were worthy. For those who won, Mai Vang was also a great source of motivation in their career journey.
