Da Lat Railway Station Recognized as New Tourist Destination

The architecture of the station simulates the peak of Langbiang mountain.

Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee has just issued Decision No. 1061/QD-UBND dated June 21, 2024 on recognizing the tourist destination "Da Lat Railway Station".

Accordingly, Vietnam Railway Corporation is responsible for fully complying with the provisions of the Law on Tourism and relevant legal regulations in the process of managing and exploiting tourism business at the tourist destination "Da Lat Railway Station".

The project has a symmetrical layout, with the central architectural block simulating the three peaks of Langbiang Mountain and the roofs of the Central Highlands communal houses; on both sides are two long architectural blocks. Overall, the architecture of the project is in harmony with nature and is a unique urban highlight.

Da Lat Railway Station was built from 1932 to 1938, at an altitude of more than 1,500m above sea level. This is the only railway station in the Central Highlands region and is considered the most beautiful ancient railway station in Vietnam and Indochina with its indigenous architecture.

Da Lat Railway Station was recognized as a national historical and cultural relic in 2001.

The station is sparkling at night

Da Lat Railway Station has become the pride of local people and is also an indispensable check-in point for tourists coming to Da Lat.

Currently, Da Lat station is no longer used for transportation but is used as an attractive tourist attraction in the city of thousands of flowers. The only railway line that Da Lat station still serves is the 7 km long route from Da Lat to Trai Mat, taking visitors to visit Linh Phuoc Pagoda. With a rather slow speed of only 15 km/h, the train helps visitors fully admire the beauty of Da Lat city.

This place is not only an attractive destination for tourists during the day. With the night train called "Da Lat Night Journey" departing from 18:15 to 21:20 every day, visitors can admire the magical and unique beauty of Da Lat at night. The night train route is beautifully decorated as if coming out of a fairy tale, making many visitors enjoy taking 'virtual life' here. Joining this night train route, in addition to experiencing the night scenery, visitors can also enjoy music and dinner parties upon request.
