Scientific workshop "Directions for tourism development in Hue city"

On April 17, the Hue City Historical Science Association in collaboration with the Department of Tourism and the City Tourism Association organized a scientific workshop on "Directions for tourism development in Hue City".

The workshop was attended by representatives of departments, agencies, and many experts and researchers.

Hue was once the center of power of Dang Trong under the Nguyen lords, then became the capital of the country under the Tay Son and Nguyen dynasties.

This place preserves the quintessence of material and spiritual culture of a capital under a monarchy, a living testament to the imperial culture - the pinnacle of a unified nation.

Today, Hue is striving to become a major cultural and tourist center of Vietnam and the region.

Dr. Phan Tien Dung, Chairman of the Hue City Historical Science Association, emphasized: Hue culture is an important component of the overall Vietnamese national culture, and at the same time is the fundamental foundation promoting the development of the tourism industry.

These unique cultural activities have not only contributed to shaping Hue's tourism identity, but also created a driving force for the development of related economic sectors, expanded foreign relations and attracted domestic and international investment cooperation.

Hue culture reflects the unique depth of the land, portrayed through many unique cultural value systems such as: cuisine, clothing, garden house architecture, education, writing, music, theater, language and poetry...

These values ​​have now become great potential to build Hue into an important tourist center of Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

At the workshop, delegates focused on discussing issues such as: exploiting the potential of culture, history, landscape to serve tourism development; solutions, lessons learned to develop tourism in Hue city; proposals and recommendations for the upcoming development direction of Hue tourism...

Many experts and researchers have shared and given suggestions on exploiting the strengths of Hue culture to develop tourism, such as: developing traditional occupations in the Hue Citadel area; exploiting spiritual tours based on religious relics and beliefs, and festivals in Hue.

Developing tourism associated with exploiting the cultural heritage potential of ethnic minorities; exploiting the strengths of Hue culinary tourism associated with storytelling; training tourism students according to international standards...
