The MoU emphasizes the implementation of the national railway network development strategy, optimizing the efficient transportation of goods to and from Vietnam SuperPort TM . The two parties will cooperate in researching the development strategy of new railway lines and stations connecting to Vietnam SuperPort TM to enhance logistics capacity.

Accordingly, Vietnam SuperPort TM is positioned as a key transit hub along the Lao Cai – Hanoi – Hai Phong – Quang Ninh railway route. This initiative will facilitate efficient and cost-effective freight transport within Vietnam and across borders.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, highly appreciating the participation and companionship of the partners, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Cuong, Director of the Department of Transport (Ministry of Transport), said that this coordination will create a combined strength, promoting the Vietnamese transport system.
According to Mr. Cuong, the transport sector is facing many opportunities and challenges. Building an efficient transport system, developing advanced logistics centres and applying modern technology is not only a goal but also an urgent requirement to ensure competitiveness and sustainable development.
“The event is an important milestone affirming Vietnam’s vision and determination in developing modern and sustainable transport,” Mr. Cuong emphasized, adding that the multimodal port project will bring great value, and is a strategic step that creates the premise for realizing important development goals.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Hien, Deputy Director in charge of the Institute of Transport Strategy and Development, said that in the past time, the Institute has presided over the development of the railway network development plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 nationwide, participating in a number of detailed planning projects, pre-feasibility of a number of key railway routes such as: High-speed railway route on the North-South axis, Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway route, Quang Ninh, detailed planning of railway hubs in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, detailed planning of a number of main stations on the North-South railway route...
In particular, the newly built Lao Cai – Hanoi – Hai Phong, Quang Ninh railway with 1,435mm gauge plays an important role in connecting and cooperating between Vietnam and China. This is also an important railway connecting the Northwest region with Hanoi and the Hai Phong, Quang Ninh areas.
According to Ms. Hien, the Vinh Phuc ICD Logistics Center project of Vietnam SuperPort TM is located in an area with a large volume of import and export goods from industrial parks of Vinh Phuc and neighboring provinces and cities to the largest international border gates in the North such as: Noi Bai and Cat Bi international airports; Hai Phong international gateway seaport and international road and railway border gates with China in the Vietnam - China economic cooperation corridor (Yunnan - China) - Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong, Quang Ninh).
With the orientation of building a supply chain of logistics services and urban solutions, aiming to provide green and smart logistics services, contributing to reducing logistics costs and improving Vietnam's competitiveness in the region, implementing netzero by 2040 of Vietnam Superport TM , Ms. Hien assessed that this orientation is consistent with the goal of "forming large logistics service centers, on par with international standards to reduce costs for businesses, thereby improving the quality and competitiveness of products, goods and the entire economy" of Vietnam's logistics, as well as other sustainable development orientations.

Emphasizing the importance of these strategic partnerships in realizing the multimodal logistics port vision, Dr. Yap Kwong Weng, CEO of Vietnam SuperPort TM , informed that the Vinh Phuc ICD Logistics Center will integrate road, air, sea and rail transport.
“Developing the logistics industry in conjunction with connecting transport infrastructure, especially railway infrastructure, will contribute to improving national logistics capacity and enhancing Vietnam’s integration into global supply,” Mr. Yap affirmed, adding that the cooperation efforts between Vietnam SuperPort TM and strategic partners are an important step forward in promoting Vietnam’s logistics and transport capacity.
By leveraging the expertise of key partners, the project aims to enhance Vietnam’s position as a key hub in regional and global supply chains, thereby contributing to economic growth and enhancing the country’s international competitiveness.

Also at the event, Vietnam SuperPort TM signed a memorandum of understanding with China Railway 16 Vietnam Group Co., Ltd. (under China Railway Construction Corporation).
The cooperation focuses on the construction of a railway freight terminal in Vietnam SuperPort TM and a railway line connecting to Vietnam's national railway, serving logistics services and cross-border freight transport between Vietnam and China as well as other countries in the region.
Here, Vietnam SuperPort™ will provide integrated logistics solutions including planning, cargo handling, warehouse management, distribution, multimodal transportation, etc. Thereby, improving the efficiency and competitiveness of railway transport services.
