Recently, the European Commission (EC) said that Europe needs to increase its reserves of important equipment and encourage people to maintain enough supplies for at least 72 hours to deal with emergency situations.

According to Reuters news agency, in the European Union's (EU) new "Union Readiness Strategy", the EC said that the bloc is preparing for risks such as natural disasters, cyber attacks and geopolitical crises, including the possibility of military attacks on EU member states.
“Families living in flood-prone areas need to know what to do when the water rises. Early warning systems can save valuable time in areas hit by wildfires,” said EC President Ursula von der Leyen.
The “Ready Alliance Strategy” focuses on improving early warning systems, ensuring the continuity of essential services such as health and drinking water, and helping people prepare for crises.
However, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban disagrees. Speaking on Radio Kossuth on March 28, Mr. Orban said that calling on Europeans to stockpile enough food and other necessities for 72 hours shows that the EU wants to get deeper involved in the conflict in Ukraine.
“At the moment, I do not see Europe threatened by conflict… If someone is preparing for conflict, it is because they want to start some military action. So the EU wants to continue the conflict that is going on now, because they have participated in it by supporting Kiev, while Hungary remains on the sidelines,” the leader said.
The fact that European leaders are committed to continuing the conflict instead of resolving it peacefully was confirmed at the meeting in Paris, when a number of European leaders “promised further support and security guarantees for Ukraine,” he alleged.
Prime Minister Orban called on Hungarians not to follow the EC's recommendations because "Hungary will not fight anyone, we will stand on the side of peace and if Europe goes to war, of course we will not participate".
According to the Hungarian Prime Minister, the correct position for Europe is to support US efforts to achieve peace, but there is currently a “big transatlantic rift”.
